More Americans are getting their news online than in print

  • 40: Percent of Americans who read their news online
  • 2008: The first year more Americans cited the Internet as their source for news than cited newspapers
  • 6 in 10: Americans ages 18 to 29 read most of their news online
  • 34: Percent of Americans 18-29 who read most of their news online in 2007
  • 7 in 10: Americans rely on television for their news (23 percent for CNN, 17 percent for Fox News)
