Please, folks, get a grip. There are so many self-evident truths that we have blithely ignored for years that the worst offenders are hiding in plain sight.

Wall Street was largely unregulated and even more largely misunderstood for years. Result? Surpriiiise!

Unions (all unions, but specifically the auto unions) have had one ultimate goal for decades: more pay (or other compensation) for less work. Result: Surpriiiise!

Lobbyists have been allowed to run unfettered, unregulated, unnoticed and largely unreported for decades, giving politicians ungodly amounts of cash and other valuables, all the while maintaining that they were buying ACCESS but NOT INFLUENCE! We have allowed and even condoned this. Result: Surpriiiise!

The problems that stem from the rich, the powerful and the media darlings aren't new to the scene. The miracle is that we haven't sustained several major setbacks before now.

If I wanted to destroy the U.S., one of the first things I would do would be to further enrich and empower the teachers' unions. They already have a head start on making us a second-rate (or perhaps much worse than that) country when it comes to math, science (read:technology) and language. And that's just one example out of dozens.

No WMD's are necessary to topple us - merely a little patience. We are busily doing to ourselves what no foreign power has been able to: destroy us gradually from within.

Our greatest enemy is APATHY - plain and simple. And it's winning, big time.

CCR is corrupt

The Corp Crime Rept is itself corrupt. It took stats compiled by the DOJ and cherry picked and massaged the numbers evidently to shift light off Obama's state and onto the usual suspects. The truth is (deep in the DOJ's report) Florida has sent over 800 politicians to the pokey, NY 704, Texas 565, Pennsylvania 555, CA 547, Ohio 547, Illinois 502, NJ 418, Wash DC 380, and, finally, LA at 332. But the most corrupt of all? Big Money + Big Politics = Congress. The Fortune 500 doesn't send highly paid lobbyists to Capitol Hill for the lunches, nor did those sending 100s of millions to Barack's and McCain's campaigns do so for "good government." It is what it is and it will stay that way. And when the high and mighty go bankrupt, it's the little guy who'll take it in the shorts.

Americans permit the media to feed them their thoughts, so this surprises you? Please, most people are worried about their jobs right now, right? Wrong! Look at what Americans are doing. Acting as if nothing is wrong. Retailers said this was the most dismal Black Friday and yet, it still was an increase over last year, which was an increase from the year before and before that!!! We're still spending our a$$es off and they say it's dismal.
