Will Congress Reach an Agreement on the Auto Bailout?

No Bailout

I don't wont to see our auto companies disappear. But dog gone if I can find any sympathie. Why didn't Detroit see the handwriting on the wall ? The junk coming out of Detroit in the 70,s was the worst, and Chevrolet didn't seem to care to much about what anyone thought. If it wasnt for the foreign auto market in the United States we would still be getting 70s junk. Detroit should be leading the way in hybrid technology, not playing catchup. If Chevrolet can't get there batteries to work maybe they should ask Toyota for lessons,I'm disgusted with it all. NO BAILOUT

protest bailout - small business stimulation

Meet the Press, Obama was aired and nothing was talked about for small business. I’ve been trying to obtain funds for my business, and getting nowhere. No offense to the american citizens and our war heros, but I’ve displayed my flag union side down as a sign of protest to the government about the bailout plan that has not simulated the economy. And nothing planned for small business, which is 90% of business employing the people of america. The recessed economy will continue to tank, if the government continues to spend out tax dollars, bailing out the rich, and not thinking about the majority of population which is middle class.

I’m hoping to start a movement, a peaceful protest and ask that other small businesses and consumers that are struggling, to display the US flag upside down, as I did.

Google: ‘Brzostowski, Plainfield, flag’ its gotten many mixed emotions and media attention.

We need to spread the word and let our leaders know that we are in distress, and need government support, as the banks are not lending.

Smoke and Mirrors

I'll bet my last few dollars that congress is simply stalling to weaken public resolve (and attach a few billion more in add ons). The dems will give the UAW what they ask for, with nothing more than a few small (and meaningless) concessions. The big three will continue pumping out crappy cars that people don’t want, for $73/hr (trying to compete with the foreign companies, in America who are producing better cars, at $42).

These congressional idiots and crooks WILL NOT stop until this country is destroyed!

NO BAILOUT

Nardelli runs Home Depot into the ground, then gets hired to do the same at Chrysler. As long as twits like this are running the industry, NO BAILOUT. Let them eat cake.

Auto Bailout

Where does this stop? I don't think it's the governments place to get involved. There are alot of taxpayers out there that need help too. Where is our money? The big3 got themselves into this mess, not the taxpayers. They made their bed, now let them lie in it.

If they want a bailout plan, then here's one. Give every American $15,000 with a stipulation that it has to be used for the purchase of a new car from one of the big3. That would help the people with old gas-guzzling klunkers to upgrade, minimize fuel usage, be more eco-friendly, keep thousands of people with jobs, and boost the U.S. auto industry. And it needs to be mandatory that all of the big3 executives step down and have a re-orginization at the top level. The current CEO's can't be trusted. They have robbed enough money from the American People over the years.

This country has gone completely insane, and the last bailout was a joke too. That money should have been divided up amongst the tax payers. Imagine what a economic boost that could have been. All the bailout did was give more money to those "hurting" companies" to make their Christmas parties more extravagant.

The Big? three

They said they'd come back with a plan, instead they came back with an ultimatum. Shame on our auto industry. The ceo's said they would work for $1.00 this year, how about using some of the inane saleries of the last several years to bail our the companies that are failing under their managment. Let them go, there are no plans to eliminate duplication and the argument that they are concerned about consumer confidence just doesn't hold water. Sink or swim, big three, and the swim will be upstrean not down.

At around 10:14 a Liz Stanton (Bloomburg news services) more than likely spent most of her morning at her high paying job spreanding more gloom and doom on the auto stocks(GM). Telling all on its drag on the markets. At 10:35 GM turned positive and is running up now. I do'nt understand how these people hold on to their job? Do they get medical benefits? I am looking for a part time job, If all it takes to get one here is be negitive, look out Rush, here I come and I will work for 50% less this year and $1.00 next. Just what good they are for the markets. Umless they just want to drive it down to buy, say positive things to make it rise and then sell?????.
