Sarah Palin for President in 2012? No Way

The Dumb Party?
The Economist, that English magazine that is so opinionated, yet so often right, damn them, recently published an article showing how the Republican party was lining up as the new Dumb Party. They pointed out that the base of the party was the unquestioning Christian fundamentalists and know-nothing racists, the very people who have been most victimized by their lack of education and stupidity in this current economic disaster engineered by their own party, and their own President.
They will have four years to wake up and re-evaluate.
Now it could be that in the next four years, the whole of America will dumb down with them, but I don't think so. Likely, they are going to smarten up.
I don't think Barack Obama is any kind of messiah, but then, he will look like one if he follows what is doubtless the most incompetent President in history, GWB, with anything approaching competence.
Meanwhile, I am investing in China. I predict that the Chinese will buy one of the US auto companies within 24 months, and we will see a wave of new, smaller, less expensive but very well built cars arriving in America and Europe from China in that time.
Cheers, America! We are truly globalizing!
Palin
This snippet of trash only reinforces the fact that the media has decided that the american people are fools and lackies and can be controlled by any lie they choose to sponsor.
Palin may not run for president in 2012, but one of the big reasons might be Obama. If he's successful, it would be a suicide run. If he's unsuccessful, people will be looking for anything that is not 'young and charismatic'. Palin has a proven record, but even that might not be enough in such a case.
The reasons listed in the article, such as the fact that she's an outsider, or had been ridiculed to death by the media, might be good reasons, but it's really sad that this is what's going to decide for us who's the next president.
All this discussion about 2012, though, is ridiculous. Nobody knows what will really worry Americans then.
Palin is playin the game
It is stories and articles like these that will only motivate Gov. Palin to be a candidate in 2012. She proved in this last campiagn, as well as other campaigns on her cv, that she is an underdog. The more commentators like the writer above doubt her, the better her chances of success. By being the young v-P candidate in this recent election, she has name recognition like no other which forms her base four years out. By the time Iowa comes around, if she were to decide to run, Sarah Palin would be among the better placed candidates for the GOP's nomination. Whether she's qualified or not is irrelevant. By winning enough primaries, as we know now after Obama's successful run, style can outlast any genuine substance or leadership characterists that the perception may bring to her. Having said that, if she were to be re-elected in Alaska, she would be able to credibly rival any resume from Jindal, Hunstman or Pawlenty. The key in that regard for her is to speak out on national issues between now and announcement day, so to have a record to point back to. This must continue, to establish herslef as a presence in mainland America, even if she is in Alaska. This can be easily overcome by travelling to major cities every so often and delivering keynote addresses and so on. The biggest mistake anyone can make is to underestimate Sarah Palin. She has already crept up on us now, who knows what she is capable of in the future?

Palin as President
Reading about all the areas in which our country needs particular and concentrated attention today makes it obvious that it will be no less in 2012.
I think Americans are experiencing a change brought on by events other than those brought about by our elected officials - rather by those nameless people who lent money without accurate financial statements from the customer, automobile designers who convinced bosses to produce gas guzzlers, ads that reminded and urged potential customers to buy - buy - buy and banks who sent credit cards willy-nilly to lists of mailing addresses.
It will need a person who can handle the traffic of experts in Washington offering advice on these matters. There are the social issues which I haven't even mentioned, but of which we all know, and moderating the advisors of these problems will take more than passing knowledge of health care, Social Security and gerontological life and its needs.
Palin invigorated the Republican party because she has people skills. She worked her way through college, and earned at least one scholarship. Palin should be up to managing all of this, and organizing a government, given more time as a public official in Alaska. Palin can speak from a podium in a relaxed manner. With more experience in public office and realizing the country is different in the habitat of the Eastern Establishment - not as casual as in the West, she could be a candidate to consider seriously.
Obama gave evidence of having picked people who organized a very disciplined campaign that was meant to move forward in a measured way toward its goal. He may turn out to be a pretty good president.
I think the country is pretty giddy right now as is the media. Palin was the vice-presidential candidate, but the media went after her as though she were running for president.
Palin
How amusing it is how people read only what they want to read. Palin supporters focus on the pieces of your article questioning her ability to govern with her family responsibilities. I'm sure that will not be a problem for her, and they are right that this is usually not asked of men. So I have to agree with Palin supporters that this is a non issue.
What is telling is that there seems to be little argument of why Palin would be good to lead the country. Because she is pro-life, is a hunter, and is a traditional conservative will not win moderates and independents. She can try to maximize the base, but the Republican base is shrinking. It will only get smaller in the next few years. The Republicans need to learn to make compromises. It doesn't seem that any Republican but McCain has shown an ability to do that. Already, the GOP is blaming McCain for not sticking to core Republican values. I don't think the Republicans have any intention of expanding their platform, but only to repackage what they have been pushing for years in a pretty and sexy new package.
And that's why Sarah did well. Not because she represented any new ideas. She represents the same values that the GOP has pushing for years, dressed up in an expensive $150,000 package.
Palin
Part of the reason so many of her political oponents vilified her is that it is a normal tendency to hate someone that is happy, successful and walks the talk of what they believe in; it gets those that hate her in touch with all the times they weren't or didn't...
Palin 2012
Sounds like a liberal hippie wrote this article. Palin poses the biggest threat to the Democratic party, and after Obama runs this country into the ground and just misses a revolution Palin will win in a landside and put this country back to form with strong conservative principles and values.
