For President-Elect Obama, a New Agenda for Latin America

As an ex pat who lives and works in Colombia, the US does not have a stronger ally in the region. Dropping the free trade agreement was akin to a slap in the face to most Colombians. I hope Obama uses this chance to strengthen ties between the two nations while engaging Brazil,and Ecuador more.

Most people in Colombia despise Chavez and would love to see their role in the US trade expanded. I can attest to the costs of American goods here which are outrageously expensive due to oppresive tariffs. I hope for the best but expect the worst.

Obama is filling his cabinet with hillary blue dogs, dont expect change like we voted for because they think like republicans..,He wants hillary, the one that doesnt have the ability to talk to iran because (they might use it as propaganda against her) as sec. of state. That is same old politics as usual. All he needs now is lieberman to complete the blue dog presidentcy..Hillary must be very happy at all her friends getting positions..She would probably have put the same people in. Change right..

They might not have mention the Columbia Free Trade agreement , but what do you believe they are trying to say!!!!

New Agenda for Latin America

I believe Obama first agenda and the most important is to take care of U.S. citizens and our country...

We have been not only neglected for 8 years , but down right had the crap beating out of us..

This is why Obama received the large amount of votes , and who knows just how many million of votes the republicans deleted and stopped voters from voting...

I say it is past due time to start worrying and making policies for the benefit of the workers and citizens of our own country...

"Alliance for the Americas" but NAFTA is a bad thing?

You would have us send billions of dollars to corrept governments in th ehopes that they would help their people. How much money is Mexico and Venezuela getting every year?

Why don't they help their own people? Why to they need US tax dollars when they got the oil and the cheap labor we need?

I read this whole article and didn't see one word about the Columbia Free Trade agreement that George Bush has been trying to get the Democratic congress to approve. Wow.
