President-Elect Barack Obama: Our Journey From Disbelief to Hope to the White House

221 years and counting

Looks like the U. S. still is waiting for the first black to become President. In his speech about the dog for the White House he said that he was bi-racial. I'm sure if you check you will be able to find some other bi-racial President. So for historical records he cannot be classified as a black or white President, just a President like everyone else so far.

Journey to Hope

It was time. And the rise of a new generation of active citizens demanded it. I am older and had two choices. Reject the evolution and unavoidable change of our country and it's makeup, or accept and embrace it. "When you realize that everything changes, there is nothing that you want to hold on to." Lao Tzu

221 Years

Yea, actually its 221 years. Thanx.

-Barack

Yes We Can!!!!!!!!

What a phrase "Yes we Can". As Obama said "it isnt about him its about US." Even though he will always be known as American's first Black President, he has made history with the support of us, "the people." Obama has brought many people that was never interesting politics to the polls. He has brought many young people to the polls. With his faith, indurence and the support of "US" he has made history.

another thing

I just wanted to add for LA who wrote that "ignorance must be in African-American's genetic makeup...."

What planet did you arrive from? There are so many thing wrong with that sentence alone! Read a history book. Just a few short decades ago no one asked the little boy with the dark face who is mama was...he still had to sit at the back of the bus, use the black only toilet and go to a negro school. And judging from your comment...we still have a looooong way to go to achieve MLK's promised land and realize the full meaning of the words that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL!

Well, I hope you enjoy your tiny little box you live in. Hear the roar outside of the little dark place...that's change, honey! Don't fight it...come join the party!

By the way, I am a white woman and many more like me voted for "that one"!

Oh, YES I DID!!!!!

Obama

Never in my lifetime have I seen a candidate move voters to dance and sing in the streets at his victory as I did this Tuesday. You can try to dilute the sheer joy with your sour grapes but nothing will stop this from being a historic moment in our country's history.

Get over it. McCain's campaign was flawed and their Pitball attack back fired on them. Obama ran a smooth ship that showed his steady qualities we want from a president who will face huge challenges. A grumpy old guy and his vacant side-kick did not fit the bill.

Obama gave me a pride that leaves tears in my eyes. No president in my time has ever made me feel like dancing in the streets until now.

Obama is a proud president

well, at the end of they day what we want is change. and if people don't liek this they will have to deal with it. At the end the day we have to get together and fix this economy, and you knw owhy we chant ,why we hold hands? we are sick and tired of this republican tortre. We've had enough. So YES ! WE CAN!!

Many world leaders have gone through a journey to achieve their political office. The person I picked as my favorite would be a dreamer, someone who believes In change, and most importantly will go down into history forever. This man is Barack Obama .For over 200 years all the presidents were white males, no other race ,not even a female. But not now. He has been through campaigning and fighting for his rights. He will forever be known as the first African American president of the U.S.A. Obama was more than just clever words and mottos. He was a believer in transforming America into a better place for us and the next generation. Even thought he was rumored about and lied about, that didn’t stop him. He kept going and for all those people that didn’t believe, he proved them so wrong.

Ignorance must be in the genetic make up of african americans. African americans need to Quit celebrating like they won something. If anything he should be considered more white than black since he was raised by a couple of white folks. Weird, his black father wasnt there for him while growing up. Obama is as black as snow.

THE REAL REASON OBAMA IS PRESIDENT....

Yesterday's polls showed that 73% of Americans (52% of Dems) admitted that the media was biased toward Obama. So, in addition to spending 3 times more than McCain, Obama had free media endorsement and, beyond that, a free pass on issues that would have destroyed any other candidate.

Further, the intellectual elite professors of the educational establishment preached from their pulpits endorsing this new mesiah. The result was parks and streets filled with swaying Obamatrons chanting "change" and "Yes, we can." And other meaningless slogans.

Now the Dems are claiming a mandate... Gee, all that money and bias, and all the "Empty O'Man" can manage is a 3% majority? Gee, that's an extra 3 voters out of a hundred that were duped by the money, the liberal educational establishment and the media blitz- Doesn't seem to me to be much of a mandate considering the overwhelming forces that were brought to bear against his opponent.

Now don't mind me...Just go on with your chanting and hand holding...

Obama is more than an African American President

Barak Obama is just a man who reached the highest office in this country and happens to be Afican American, he has not let this define him nor should this country. Is he the right man for this job, we shall see. Good, bad or indifferent he is our president elect, and he should be given the same chances as mcCain would have received.
