Where McCain Went Wrong

Political wiseguys assumed McCain couldn't win honorably, and the Arizonan had once lost with honor

election Press coverage

Dear Sir

I would like to add my perspective as a Canadian who has read the NY times and Wash Post daily for many years but will no longer do so. I also used to watch CNN and MSNBC regularly.

It was a habit I picked up when working as an engineering consultant in MD

I have been stunned by the blatant but successful attempt by the Print News reporters and TV news reporters and pundits to make anyone running against Obama look like a liar and

either an airhead or worse. This started in the primary with Clinton ( Liar ) next to McCain ( erratic and Liar ),and at least ended with Clinton and McCain when their negative poll rating grew but continues to a degree with Palin.

This has been one of the worst cases of demonizing someone I have ever witnessed. This was done by your news people

who looked for anything at all to put a public derogatory spin on, and made her look foolish as many times as possible.

Demonizing people without knowing them personally, oh their just stupid, shows the ethics of an alley cat and I am being unkind to cats.

All of this was done while putting a positive spin on anything connected to Obama and laundering anything not positive

such as long term associates, which is how we judge our politicians

This has been so wide spread and appears to cover everything but Fox so it does seem to be organized from somewhere

or someone so it must be corporate policy

How anyone but an ignorant already biased goof, can now rely on any American news reported by the American main stream media ,This would be to big a stretch for me so I now get my news from CBC or BBC at least they still appear to have some ethics and as should be the case in the US, Libel laws here and Britain cover cases of this kind just to keep this sort of

skummy behavior in check

This is a dangerous Pandora's box to open, and one thing I have always believed that there is always repayment for bad

things done to other people no matter who you are, and I now

actually hope that there will be an epedimic of fatal cancer among the main stream US press and TV personalities before the next election,

The press have went from a guardian of democracy to an undo influence and have forfitted their protection under the constitution.

It also shows that the 5th estate will now have to be regulated

because they have ditched their necessary dog watch role, and can no longer be trusted not to use their influence to unduely

effect the Democratic Process.

Thanks

No Leadership and No Direction

The McCain campaign has operated much like an out-of-control gyroscope -- spinning wildly at a high rate of speed, without any specific direction or guidance, bouncing-off whatever it may crash into, abruptly changing directions, and then wobbling aimlessly along a new, random, unplanned path. There's no control, just as John McCain has not controlled his campaign. McCain often says "I've already been tested." Yes John, you have been tested -- and you failed miserably. You failed to take charge of your campaign; failed to give it the leadership and direction it so desperately needed. Our country needs a leader that is unflappable and imperturbable; and John McCain has often looked very flapped and perturbed.

Borger is in the Tank for Obama

Gloria Borger says nothing in this article except her views which are tainted by her love of Obama. She clams that some on the Republican side feel that Palin was not qualified to be vice-president. She fails to mention that 49% of American feel Obama is not qualified for the Presidency.

She puts quotes around the fact that Obama Pals around with terrorists. The fact is he does.

If the media had spent as much time investigating and vetting Barack Obama as they did Palin and Joe the plumber, then Obama would not have made it past Iowa.

Why doesn't Borger mention that Congress has an abysmal approval rating of 16%. This is significantly lower than President Bush's low ratings. Yet most of congress will win re-election.

With newspaper subscribers and television viewers at a seriously low level these fallacies that Borger and her type throw at us are not resonating as they once did

Mccain Immigration

I'm confused as to how Mccain's views on immigration stand. Did he support Bush's original fence theory back in 2000 that House of Rep. denied? Both recognize that it is an issue. Obama supports the Dream Act. Does Mccain support the invisible fence plan (if yes, what are the specifics)? Does he also still support the plan that would 'allow illegal immigrants to stay in the U.S. legally as "guest workers" who could eventually earn U.S. citizenship'?

Campbell Brown making nasty with a Saudi"Royal" There Is a GOD.I totally forgot about that.It did seem odd that a woman with such tiny breasts could make it that far in such a short time.Ms.Brown has to work really hard to get that video back-but how many copies are there?

McCain Candidacy

Being a college graduate twice I am puzzled by the McCain Campaign. They are pandering to uninformed, uneducated electorate. Doing so with the thought that it is extremely stupid. Constant negative and fear based ads are absolutely reprehensible. Will there ever be a campaign that can focus on the issues? In McCains first real test of a MC Cain presidency, he chooses an unknown, untested governor. He failed in his first real judgement call. Frankly, she scares me being one heartbeat away from the nuclear codes.

I am a registered independent. I am voting Obama. As a country we need change.

Gloria You Are One Ugly Person

I hope that you are proud of yourself. You have shown your true colors to the public. I know you will not like it when people find out all the ugly things in your past. There will be many people like you who will have their lives exposed after the election. It is okay to slam any person who disagrees with your view. The media will have to answer when the tables are turned. Gloria you are an ugly person on the inside and out. Is it okay that Campell Brown slept around with a Saudi prince? Have you ever covered that? There are skeltons in all of the media closets and they will come out.

McCain's Legacy

As I read the above opinions, it leaves much to be desired and it convinces me this is what McCain and Palin has wrought upon our land. Devisiveness and bigotry. We need a team who will go into the White House with a message of unity, respect, inclusiveness, compassion, fortitude and honesty. I do not see those qualities in McCain or Palin. They have brought out the worse in people. The proof is in the way they have conducted their campaign, to use inflammatory rhetoric and iciting their supporters to violence, to encourage them to yell out "Terrorist" and Palin inciting the crowd to yell, "kill him, kill him, and then to just stand there and not to attempt to calm the crowd or to apologize for encouraging such dangerous responses. Now, we see from the language used in the above responses what actions McCain and Palin have encouraged. McCain is a hypocrit, he condemns Obama and demands explanations about his relationship with Ayers but will not--has refused to answer questions about his relationship with a convicted "terrorist." Ayers was not convicted, his terrible mistakes were committed forty years ago when he was a young man. McCain's terrorist friend, G. Gordon Liddy was a grown man, an adult who was tried and convicted for multiple felonies and received a 20-year sentence for his part in the Watergate scandal, including burglary, conspiracy, and illegal wiretappings. When McCain was asked about his relationship with Liddy he tried to brush it off. What hypocrisy, he demands an explanation from Obama but will not give one himself. He is afraid to tell Americans the truth because they won't like what they hear. G. Gordon Liddy never repented of his crimes, but takes pride in them. Liddy is another one who likes to incite violence by encouraging listeners to "kill the sons of bitches" referring to federal agents. Here we have a unreformed criminal and enemy of democracy who has been very close to McCain, a loyal friend, supporter and contributor. Is it also a mystery to people just why the Republican nominee consorts with a lawless radical--it's no mystery McCain just doesn't want to talk about it. The old black pot calling the kettle....

McCain,Palin

I don't know where some of you get it that Sarah isn't qualified to be Vice Pres.

She has much more experience than OBAMA. What has he done? I'd like for someone to tell me please.

he has been campaigning most of the time he has been in the Senate.

I think Sarah has a lot of experience as Governor.

She is an intelligent lady. I personally think some people are just plain jealous of her because she is so smart and GOOD LOOKING.

I have not a doubt in my mind that she can be Vice President and do a darn good job.

Please stop bringing up McCain's age. He has a lot of wisdom. Ronald Reagan was an older President and he was one of the best. The older one's has more knowledge on how to lead this country. We are facing some terrible times, mark it down!!!!!

Sarah Palin didn't embarass herself

I was watching the vice-presidential debate on CNN.

After the debate, during the post-debate analysis,

I heard Mrs. Gloria Borger say:

"Sarah Palin did good; she didn't embarass herself."

Wow!!! How much lower can lower that bar to become

Vice-President of the USA.
