We want a better America, not a Socialist America

Obama won the debate, but that doesn't mean he should be president.

Big government doesn't work period. Obama sees government in the role of parent, caregiver, re-distributor of wealth. This very socialist perspective is demonstrated in his voting, and outlined in his books and policies. Example : the Union Check Card issue misleadingly named the "Employee Free Choice Act" http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0708/11840.html

Americans are scared. We feel so disillusioned and leaderless we appear to be willing to to 'try anything' to see if it will make a difference. George Bush was possibly the worst president in history, but we can't make another mistake and elect a fundamentally socialist leader.

Independence and self-resilience is what built and made this country great. The more freedoms and choices we turn over to the government because we are desperate to feel secure is a dangerous road. History has proven socialism fails its people, weakens the republic and squashes a nation's engine for success ...self-determination.

If you truly care about where this country is going, vote for the only person running who really knows what it is like to lose the freedoms we take for granted. John McCain, though not so well spoken or 'relatable', is the only candidate that has consistently demonstrated via accomplishment and action he knows how to lead and triumph in times of extreme crisis.

I belive its important to tell the truth unlike sarah who said in the debate that they going do everything they promise (whateva)

everybody know that you cant do everything he says like joe biden said you cant try but dnt promise sumthang that you cant do !!!!! you heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO JOE BIDEN & OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Response to Beth of IA

Second Attempt. (this site obviously doesn't want to publish comments that diminish Obama's character; however I will not be discouraged).

My vote was for Palin as the winner of the debate, Beth of IA. However, I also intend to vote for the McCain/Palin ticket come November.

Before you cast your vote for Obama, make sure you examine your conscience thoroughly. Obama continues to be friends with Bill Ayres, the terrorist who bombed the U.S. Embassy and NYC Police Department, who still is unrepented and wishes he had done more. Obama, and his family, sat in the pew of a church for 20 years, embracing the radical views of the America-hater, Rev. Wright, and who he disassociated himself with only because of political expediency. He had commented previously that he could no more distance himself from Rev. Wright than the black community. Change of heart, Obama? The big crook from Fannie Mae is one of Obama's top Economic Advisors. Incidentally, Obama was the 2nd highest recipient of funds from Fannie Mae for his campain. (Do you smell something fishy, here?) Obama defended the corrupt "ACORN" organization, who was and still is being investigated by the FBI. How about Tony Resco? Shall I go on....

McCain has proven his love for his country by his service in the armed forces and his proven record in the Senate. He is a Leader. He is the man who deserves to be the Commander In Chief of this great nation - US of A, not Obama (a big fraud).

serving your country

It is honorable to serve your country in the military but it is also honorable to serve your country as a senator for many years

Go OBama Go!!!

Palin has no idea what she is doing

As far as Im concerned Sarah Palin is just for show, so it may seem. She is so concerned with trying to connect with "the average american" shes actually no where near. McCain had my vote until he chose Palin. It scares the crap out of me knowing that she might be our president if something happend to McCain. I dont believe Palin has the capability or passion to lead a nation. Contrary Biden

Biden won the debate

Sarah Palin made it clear that she wanted to do was "talk directly to the American people", meaning that she chose to spout her stump speech and avoid actually answering the questions posed by the moderator. Biden, on the other hand, responded thoughtfully and intelligently to the topics at hand. His victory was clear to me.

Sarah Palin's folksy charm may play well to some, but the idea of her in the White House is terrifying. "Hello Mr. Putin, can I call ya Vlad?" Spare us.

Is change the right word for what America wants?

I have been listening to individuals on both the Republican and the Democratic side of the 2008 presidential race. Both sides are calling for change, the candidates and the voters, but does America really want "Change"? If so, then vote for real change and to keep America strong and put our votes where our mouths are.

The American people overwelmingly say they support our troops. If so, then vote for someone that has been a part of those troops. Only someone that has been part of our America fighting men and women has put their life on the line to protect this country's freedoms and beliefs. Did the 42nd President (1993-2001) of the United States serve...no. Did the 43rd (2001-present) President of the United States serve...no. This pattern needs to be broken.

Palin is the loser

Louise blogs that Palin "has my vote and I'm a Democrat." Well, not much of a Democrat, if she hasn't even figured out yet that Palin isn't the one running for President.

I guess the "Joe Six Pack" B.S., if it works, tells us that when we elect someone to high office, we're supposed to strive for mediocrity instead of excellence. When did intelligence and ethics cease being things we ought to strive for?

No wonder America is a laughing stock to the rest of the industrialized world. They're probably thinking that if we choose the McCain/Palin ticket, we deserve the mess we'll be in.

Palie lies with ease, about her own record and that of her opponents, and I've grown tired of so-called Christian Conservatives accepting that. I have plenty of "Joe Six Pack" friends; they're decent people, all of them; but I don't think any of them are qualified for an office that could plummet them into the Oval Office of their elderly boss slipped on a banana peel and gave them a promotion.

And I don't think being the governor of a state whose population is the size of Austin, TX, qualifies Palin, either. She proved, prior to and during the debate that she's never given serious consideration to any of the national issues facing this country, and I'm not prepared to sit idly by and let her practice on Americans while she plays catch-up. The reason she "never blinked" when McCain tapped her for the VP job was because she's a power=hungry opportunist who doesn't give anything but knee-jerk consideration to anything.

Besides, anyone who makes comments in public like "So, Sambo beat the b___ch!" is too much of a racist for my stomach.

Palin - The Winner

Joe Biden came across as being very knowledgeable when, in fact, he was wrong so many times it was pathetic. When are these liars going to be held accountable for what they say. Those who are foolishly uninformed, need to do their homework then they can make an educated decision.

Gov. Palin may not have the experience in the Senate that Biden has but she has accomplished quite a lot in her short time in the political realm. She appears to be a quick learner and at least, she comes across as honest and a woman with a mission to make this a better country for us as well as her own children. Plus, she didn't let Biden intimidate her in the least. She's got my vote, and I'm a Democrat!
