well.. it's like I thought!

hype

I am surprised that there has not been a strike in the U.S. yet.

This is the time I would expect it.

the market is in the hole

the election is in 4 days and Obama will change tactics that have benefited their organization.

So if noting happens the only reason I can come up with is that they do not have the capability.

I would think that Al Qaeda's goal is to destroy our economy and traumatize our people. To keep perpetuating an endless war which will cost us our standing in the world both economically and socially. If nothing happens then we have made them a bigger boogeyman then they are and we are wasting our resources on fighting when we should be shoring up the infrastructure of our country and or future

In response to the comment from larry Marbs of NC

First and for most, it does not seem that you understand much about communist countries! I was born in Europe hearing every day about the wall of Berlin. Russia was wrong to attack Georgia! I give them no credit what so ever to launch such an attack.

Now, as far as the war on terror, the Bush administration was wrong to go invade Iraq. There was no WMD, and the major accomplishment the administration, was attacking a nation that had nothing to do with 9/11. None of the terrorists who took part of the attack on your soil had anything to do with Iraq nor Saddam Hussein. The agenda of Mr. Bush was not to rescue the poor Iraqis from their so horrible dictator. The agenda was to dominate a nation which has lots of oil profits to offer. Not to mention the creation of jobs linked to a war (Haliburton, Carlyle Group etc).

The Bush administration began the war on terror at the wrong place. Bin Laden is no where near Iraq. The only success of the War in Iraq is that this stupid war has created new "terrorists" who initially were regular people who saw their children being murdered as well as elderly and innocent women, which had nothing to do with 9/11.

However, now we are almost in 2009 and Osama Bin Laden the leader of Al Qaeda is still running the mountains no where near Iraq. The Taliban is plotting no where near Iraq. The problem is there is no OIL in Afghanistan nor in Pakistan!

Bin Laden is looking forward to another 4 years of the same failed policy! One that will spend billions week after week to complete the invasion of a nation which has major oil production in view. The agenda of Bin Laden is to have the US remain in Iraq for another 10- 20 years, weaken the soldiers of this great super power that the US is which by the way will weaken the economy. Make no mistake, they want a commander in chief who is from the same political party as the current Bush administration. Republicans do encourage borrowing! Look at the financial mess this great nation is now facing. I am not a citizen but I lived here for a long time. I went to College in the US, worked hard for many years for Corporate America and say it loud: Things must change! There are insufficient regulations at Wall Street.

Osama Bin Laden is looking forward to have Senator McCain as our commander in chief as he knows that the agenda will go forward and will weaken the economy. My friend, I am a french citizen. When one of our leader (Napoleon Bonaparte) attempted to get deep into the cold Russia, he failed as he was not prepared like those who lived in the area for so long and knew how to battle in the cold weather. The war on terror must be fought at the right location first and foremost! Bin Laden was not even a concern of Mr. Bush. The WMD were and oh, the oil in Iraq! So, to conclude my response to you Iarry, war is not the answer and it can drive a nation to ruin their economy by remaining in another Vietnam! Is our nation safer now? That is the question we must ask ourselves.

"the base"

Al Qaeda is a "trigger" word. There is no al Qaeda "out there" - it was simply a list of names on a particular alphabet agency's computer...listing the names of folks that elements of the US military-industrial complex trained in irregular warfare (when we teach it it's called "irregular warfare" - when others do it it's called "terrorism")to fight the Russians...an idea championed by Mr. B years ago. They were in the pay of who exactly?

Who benefits from having a disruption in the US electorial process other than those within the US (and other world-spots) who want to lock in place their gains (in power/control) over the last decade in particular?

Keep your eyes open and don't swallow control-spin.

Meet The New Boss

To those of you who think McCain means a different foreign policy than the current administration, do you really believe President Bush sets the policy agenda? Was Bush a neo-con when he was Governor of Texas? McCain is advised by the same morons who got us into Iraq.

"This would be a good for America but bad for AlQuida if McCain was elected to be President"

Need to proofread this.

Making McCain President would be mistake for alQuida

This would be a good for America but bad for AlQuida if McCain was elected to be President. There is a very very big difference between these 2 men. McCain has been to war and has a complete understanding of war. Bush did not. McCain understands if you go to war you must plan to win this war as quickly as possible. You do this just like Russia did with Georgia. Overwhelming force. No apoligizes. War is not something you go into lightly but once it has been decided there is no place for questioning whether you made the correct decision. At this point you are there and must finish it as quickly and as overwhelming as possible. This is how you send a message. Putin understands this. The whole premise is to make someone pay for making you go to war. Trust me when I tell you if we would have gone into Iraq and killed every man with a gun and taken there land as how they understand war you would have a greater peaceover there. They understand this kind of war. But how we make war to them is a joke and it does not work with their culture. Sudam Hussien understood this and that is why he was so hard on those that opposed him. It was the only way he could maintain control. McCain understands the shorter the war the less troops you loose. This is why the surge worked. I don't mind a 1 on 1 fight but to try to fight 10 to 1 is just stupid. McCain will not bog us down in a war like this but would use overwhemling force and have it finished in months not years. I don't think alQuida is that stupid to try to put a worrior in charge. Obama does not have the backbone to go after them. Trust me alquida would hate it if I was president but I could assure you we would not get attacked again. Now i know it sounds like I am a war monger. But when people understand you will destroy there country they are more inclined to keep there own in line

Obama & Biden

Lets see!! Add an S to Obama (Osama) & NLA to Biden (Bin laden). There you have it.

Brer Rabbit strategy

If they do attack, it is because they don't like how the elections are going. If they attack, it is because they understand American's fears, and they want McCain to win. Unfortunately, the Americans might just play into their hands -- Obama would unite the world against Al Quaeda, McCain, the continuation of Bush, would weaken the world and destabilize it with more senseless attacks on places that would squander American money, military personnel, prestige and leadership.

Al Queda loves McCain better than Barrack?

What a nonsense conclusion our author has drawn for us.
