false parallels
Rick Davis is the McCain CAMPAIGN MANAGER.
There is no parallel to be drawn for this serious ethical question with the Obama campaign.
The gentleman above who brought up Mr. Raines is mistaken - there was nothing more than a couple phone calls - hardly any kind of advisory relationship. The fake linkage may come from (surprise) Mr. Hannity of Fox.
As reported in Media Matters for America, DC - Sep 24, 2008
"Sean Hannity falsely asserted that former Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines is "a chief economic adviser" to Sen. Barack Obama. A McCain campaign ad claims that Raines "advises" Obama -- a claim that Raines and the Obama campaign have denied -- but even that ad did not claim that Raines is a "chief" adviser."
Change you can trust, a slogan that could turn around McCain's campaign?
Change you can trust, a slogan that could turn around McCain's campaign?
Change you can trust contrasts beautifully with change you can believe in.
Everyone wants change, only with a team that we can trust to implement it.
If you're in a tough spot, you want someone to come to help you that you can trust, not someone you believe may want to help you.
John McCain, polls show, is rated as highly qualified and highly trusted. This slogan, change you can trust, reinforces this message.
It can even be added on to John McCain’s current slogan. Country first, change you can trust. Or perhaps Change you can trust that puts Country first. Or how about Change you can trust that puts America first
It implies without directly saying it that the other side is perhaps a little less trustworthy.
It also reinforces the message that in a time we are facing battle with Al Qaeda worldwide and two conventional wars, John McCain is a commander in chief you can trust to lead us to victory.
There are 30 days left before Election Day. Sarah Palin’s debate performance was good, but it's really up to John McCain to win.
CHANGE You Can TRUST
CHANGE You Can TRUST to put COUNTRY FIRST
CHANGE You Can TRUST to put AMERICA FIRST
CHANGE - TRUST
COUNTRY FIRST
John, are you listening???

Democratic Hypicrisy
There is one big problem with the Democrats blasting the McCain campaign for Rick Davis receiving $15,000 per month from Freddie Mac:
Franklin Raines, former Fannie Mae CEO, was paid $90 MILLION over a six year period.
So let's compare Franklin Raines to Rick Davis over a six year period:
Rick Davis was paid $15,000.00 per month.
$15,000.00 per month comes to $180,000.00 per year.
$180,000.00 per year for six years comes to $1,080,000.00.
Now let's look at Franklin Raines:
Franklin Raines was paid $90 MILLION over a six year period.
$90 MILLION breaks down to $15 MILLION per year.
And $15 MILLION per year breaks down to $1,250,000.00 PER MONTH.
So the reality is, Franklin Raines made more in ONE MONTH than Rick Davis made in SIX YEARS!
But don't worry, Barack Obama is gonna "change" Washington.
Yeah, right!
VOTE REPUBLICAN !!!
Freddie - Fannie Bailout
Why doesn't the government go after the top guys who just walked away with millions and billions? It just is not fair that my hard-earned investment money is down to nothing and no one is being held accountable. CEOs that are fired walked away with millions - how can anyone justify that?
The government's job is to create the infrastructure that will prevent such things from happening and keep policing instead of acting like a fairy godmother and still helping the top layers.
The Fannies
First of all 1999 was when Bill Clinton started this big deregulated mess that is being blamed on George Bush. But, I don't blame Bill Clinton.
Barney Frank defends the Freddies in 2003 and speaks out against George Bush's call to overhaul.
Alan Greenspan warned in 2004 but to no avail.
John McCain authored and co-sponsored FHER Reform Act of 2005. Democrats squashed it.
Barack Obama, on the other hand, made the number two spot for receiving the most campaign contributions from Freddie Mae and Freddie Mac second only to Chris Dodd and followed by John Kerry.
And THEN, Franklin Raines is vetting Obama's VP Pick?
People...look into what Obama is really like. we are in for some trouble if he is our president.
obama, freddie, and fannie
this is a unreported threesome!!!! Obama was involved with freddie and fannie, as reported by Fox.
He received lots of cash and gifts for his work in their behalf. John Kerry, too, was involved. Why don't we get both sides of the story?????
Face it....while we fight over dem or con.......they both are screwing us to death.
Maybe we should look at Ron Paul. I thought the guy was a quack.....but he said this exact thing would happen.
correction
This is a correction on my comments regarding Barney Frank. It is not the Senate Finance Committee, but the Senate Banking and Housing Committee that deserves an investigation.
taking responsibility
Wouldn't it be nice if people like Barney Frank and all the other democrats on the Senate Finance Committee that voted "NO"
on the 2005 bill for regulating Fannie and Freddie would take credit for the recent financial crash. That was the second attempt that the Bush administration had tried to regulate Fannie and Freddie, but the democrats would have no part of it, saying that there was nothing wrong with that lending institution. Fortunately the proof is in the videos. I'll be thrilled when the full investigation is revealed.
It is obvious who is accountable and I can't wait to see
them fall!
