Sarah Palin and Geraldine Ferraro—How Times Have Changed
The media should be respectful but aggressive with Palin, as they were with Ferraro 24 years ago

Ferraro and Palin
Not even close in comparison. First of all, you have a Harvard graduate that has dealt with politics, an attorney and human rights activist. Second, you have a journalism-communication degree person that has not been very many places besides Alaska. Maybe Miss USA candidate but not Vice President. I mean come on people....why don;t we just put ol' Paris Hilton on the chopping block as well.
Apply the same standard btoh ways
I have no problem with the media looking into any candidate's history and record. I think they should look into Palin's. The question that still remains is why hasn't the media applied the same standard to Obama???
But when the actual questions posed in interviews to Palin and Obama it is painfully clear that there has been no vetting done to Obama in his 19 months.
With some simple internet browsing I have looked into and verified Obama's voting record and stated agenda by his own stated words - direct quotes - in National mews outlets from before his presidential run.
He claims to want to cut my taxes - his record???? - every single time he has had the chance to vote on a tax issue he has voted to raise them.... where's the media with this???
His agenda in Illinois haas been at least consistent; he wants a socialist goverment where Big Brother takes everyones money and decides who gets what. Where's the media with that one???
We could go on and on and on... just like the energizer bunny... Hey Media.... When are you going to do your job... to both???
Tough on Palin
To suggest the media isn't being tough on Sarah Palin is to perpetuate what liberals do whenever they open their mouths - lie. Charlie Gibson made himself look like a fool when he interviewed Sarah the other night. His peering down over his glasses like an elitist snob made him seem petty and small. The liberal media like the hack who wrote this blog, loved it. My question to the author is why beat down on Sarah and give Obama a pass and a free ride? Does it assuage your black guilt? Did you own slaves in a past life John?? Just a thought.
A Good Comparison?
I don't think anyone can find any similarities between Sarah Palin and Geraldine Ferraro except that they happen to be women.
Did Geraldine Ferraro have small children when she ran for VP?
What is Sarah Palin going to do when one of her small children is seriously sick, but her presence is required in the situation room? She is definitely a good politician, but I wouldn't vote for her for "Woman of the Year" and definitely not VP of the United States.
I have my own business, and I have 4 kids. I brought each of them to work when they were little. I found that trying to do both, I ended up doing a mediocre job on both. Even now, my husband who is a teacher, spends a lot more time with them than I do.
They adore their father. I wish I would have made different choices.
As a mother, I ache for her children. Even if its not politically correct to say it, I will... Had Sarah Palin been more involved with her children, perhaps her daughter wouldn't be pregnant. Isn't this what Republican philosophy has been up until Sarah Palin was nominated?
I am a registered Democrat, but extrelemy conservative. I considered voting for McCain. He was always the only Republican I would have voted for. I honestly believe that he doesn't like himself very much right now. He is a good man who got caught up in a campaign that is being run by people he used to loathe (and who used to loathe him).
When he picked Sarah Palin my first thought was that he was giving the Presidency away on purpose, so he wouldn't have to bring back all these Republicans back to power.
Who knows... maybe that is exactly what he is doing.
Give back Bridge Monies
Joe Biden will eat her alive at the debates...
disrepsect
on the BET.COM web page there is a aun t jamima box of pancakes that Republicans have replace on the front of the box with a picture of Obama with bulging white eyes, and a turbin on his head, with racist remarks not only to blacks but to mexicans and other races in general. The article stated that this was called political satire, It did not realize how it it could be
pffensive to others. Has this country been so blinded by the fear of CHANGE even a black man in the white house that it would base this country being stagnated rather than vote for a black person. If you don't think that you are a racist, ask yourself if Obama were white and still had the same policies that he represent now, would you consider him for president. I am tired of lies, McCain has actually lied on Obama, just as Bush lied about Weapons of Mass Destruction. And the message recieved from BET website will not be seen anywhere else. Now who do the think the media is being biased toward. This is bigger than black and white, if this country does not ever adhere to Unity again, We should NOW!! there is too much at stake for us as voters to base our vote on the color, What about integrity, character, humaility, honesty, perserverance. do you see that in John MCcain, I do not. God Help Us All, if,
our eyes are opedned and we still refuse to see.
Media Has Become Dishonorable
The past 24 years has seen a definite shift in biased media coverage and the public knows it. One definition of 'deference' is "courteous regard for people's feelings; courteous respect". When interviewing someone, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It seems as if the liberal media has been more than 'deferent' with Obama and his wife Michelle. On the other hand, the liberal media has been nothing but brutal with Sarah Palin and John McCain. People are not stupid. That's why McCain/Palin have the momentum and are leading in national polls and closing in on Obama nationwide. I am a lifelong Democrat but will definitely cross over this year and vote Republican. The unfair tactics of the media against Hillary Clinton and now how McCain/Palin are being treated is one of the major reasons.
McCain Is A Sleazy Liar
John McCain, who would not sell his soul to win his party’s nomination, is ready to sell every piece of his soul to win the presidency.
