Blog Buzz: Financial Meltdown, Sarah Palin and John McCain Rack Up Lies, Barack Obama Accused of Double-Dealing in Iraq
Our daily look at stories and topics that are lighting up the Internets:
Wall Street Woes Mark a Campaign Turning Point
The news of today's financial meltdown—Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy and Bank of America took over Merrill Lynch—has bloggers analyzing its impact on the election. Chris Cillizza says it could "fundamentally reshape the playing field" and thinks whoever can come out on top in the coming debates about the economy will have a "major edge" in the election. Another liberal blogger says the crisis has given Obama his "game-changer," a chance to move up in the polls. McCain and Obama have both issued statements about the crisis, and Palin has commented as well. McCain's take on it—and his comment today that he still thinks "the fundamentals of our economy are strong"—has drawn criticism from liberal and pro-Obama bloggers, who think it's further proof that electing McCain (a "clone of George W. Bush") would spell disaster for the economy.
Palin and McCain: Pants on Fire
Liberal bloggers are busy keeping track what they call the mounting McCain-Palin lies—on the Bridge to Nowhere, polar bears, firing employees, even the size of their crowds. TPM's Josh Marshall says the extreme dishonesty is making how the media covers the campaign (whether they're willing to report accurately) a "big press story". Even Fox News's Megyn Kelly recently called out McCain on his dishonesty, giving him a grilling that surprised liberal bloggers.
Obama: Double-Dealing in Iraq?
Conservative bloggers say they aren't surprised by a column in the New York Post that accuses Barack Obama of attempting to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement of a drawdown of American forces while on his trip to Baghdad in July. They say it's the "height of hubris" that Obama tried to conduct foreign policy before becoming president and also think the column is further proof that Obama says one thing and does another, and that he does what's best for his campaign, not his country.

IT’S NOT THE ROLE OF THE US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO CREATE JOBS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!
IT’S NOT THE ROLE OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO CREATE JOBS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!
AMERICANS must regain their resilience and move the economy forward. It’s not the role of the Federal Government to create jobs. That’s a job for the people. Government can only set the stage by creating as level a playing field as possible, create incentives, assistance and any necessary catalysts with which to engage those with the entrepreneurial spirit to take action. After that point it up to every well thinking ambitious American with this Country’s interest at hart, to assume their responsibility and not sit around like some third world people who are lacking the education, the skills and or the opportunities glaring at them for self- empowerment. Waiting? What are Americans waiting for? If and when we force government to begin to think, plan and do for us, what we can do for ourselves, we are really asking to be treated as third world citizens existing, not living, under the heavy thumb of elected tyrants, who take it for granted that they may ignore what the people really want in the interest of paying lobbyists simply because we have surrenders our independence.
May be; just may be, one day soon, very soon, since we certainly can’t stand to wait, we will all come to the very clear realization that it’s not the role of the Federal government to solely fix the economy. Americans like most free loving people don’t want to see the FEDERAL Government or any other government for that matter become so involved in our lives that the line between freewill and freedom becomes merely an academic exercise, and not one we experience in actuality.
Yet we do know the role of government is to be involved in our everyday lives in such a way, that the key factors of economic growth, is in harmony with US human capital and are available to all of us. Or at least for those Americans who invest their time objectively, analytically and creatively towards becoming positive contributors to a strong national as well as international economy.
Yes the aforementioned is clearly showing that we do know that we need the government in our lives in spite of our reservations, to help us enjoy the benefits of living in a free first world economy. But we certainly don’t want to sell the impression to Americans, or to our elected state and or Federal government officials, that it’s going to take only government action to bring things to a point where we all can again have the confidence that life does get better.
So hopefully we all get it or rather got it!!!!!!!!! We also again hopefully get what many Americans; the self appointed Jeremiahs of doom, are using as an excuse to attack everything this new administration is working at in terms of resolving critical issues. Critical issues which when resolved; and they will and must be resolved, will ensure that all Americans, enjoy not just freedom, but enjoy freedom with the highest quality of life possible. That’s the civil society we all crave. The horrific negative civil discourse from what must be seen as absolutely angry; arrogant, ignorant of the facts people, objecting to everything that is aimed at making their lives better is only a glimpse of why we cannot afford to grow our society on the reliance of political leaders who ; lead people like the aforementioned, like lambs to the slaughter.
All the debates, current and those to come are all apart of the prime objectives which must be met to create such a socially, economically and therefore politically stable and enriched society respectively. Attacking for attack sake is arrogant foolhardiness at its best. There can be nothing worst. Especially when Protestors and the people who are themselves the most objectionable are themselves destroying their own desired hope for, not just dreaming about the best possible lifestyle possible; and I repeat possible a third time, but actually living it.
Americans at Town Hall meetings called by the Republican stalwarts; should be coming prepared with positive suggestions as to how can they help to make their country greater than what it is. Not come to tear it from limb to limb, destroying what true American democracy means to all of us. Spewing venom is not democracy; it represents the threshold of future tyranny. We should have leant from other nations who have tried that dangerous experiment in ancient and our lived in modern times. They are destroying the very fabric of their own nation, with the foolish plan that they can again simply recapture its true essence once they are in power. It’s more difficult to recapture something we let loose and causing deliberate breakage, that this simplistic logic may indicate. It’s more difficult than you may think or ever imagine. Do we all remember “Humpty Dumpty”? Don’t destroy a nation which has evolved positively to represent true freedom to the rest of the world, because of selfish, self-centered greed of some who absolutely thurst to hold political power.
American political leaders and leadership have and are engaged in this selfish means to power. They must be reminded of History itself. Not some foreign régime or nation, but the history of the Great United States . Remember the civil war? Do we really need to approach this countries business with the same heated and hateful rhetoric which still lingers in the minds and harts of those who still dwell in the past. Believing they are citizens of the so called; Great southern confederacy, and not wanting to face the reality or 21Century global America. For that segment of this great nation’s population, pampered by charlatans seeking votes, it’s time you let go. Let go people!! For until you do, you will not realize or come to understand what this country is “constitutioned” to accomplish. Democracy fuels positive nation building. Lets work it to create Jobs, better health care and to understand the value of a financially empowered people.
When we stop fighting amongst ourselves and own up to our responsibilities, America will again Rise. Rise because the minds of our people would not have been engaged in hating each other as opposed to cherishing the greatness of diversity. America, it’s not so hard if we decide to do this together. Thinking positively and acting responsible about and for each other is by far not a treasonous act regardless of what you are being told by those with suspicious motive. Quite the opposite America. If we don’t realize that, it only can and will get worse!!!!.
Does any one want to see America with wild confused, angry war lords, driving around in jeeps, beating people in the streets because they may have a different approach, opinion or belief system to the same utopia, we all seek for this nation? I know if you are wise, and truly love this nation ; the United States Of America, you think not!!!

Just Laws For All Americans Like All people, Exemptions Lead To Political Chaos
The presidency of Barrack Obama will pay dearly if it continues to ignore needed actions to officially and criminally charge Former Vise President Cheney for his admitted War crimes. Crimes which he has for some suspicious reason continues to taunt as being justified. With over 4,000 American and conservatively 100,000 Iraqis’ lives lost and still climbing as a direct result of Cheney’s actions, how can the New President with a straight face ask the other tyrants around the world to cease and desist from practicing war crimes against innocent and maybe, even not so innocent people. Regardless of whom these people are, and whatever their degree of innocence, the actions take by Dick Cheney are in deed crimes against humanity and deserve the justifiable condemnation of and from all freedom loving people. And how do we, as constituents of a justice system that demands the up holding of Just laws as a prerequisite of a civilized democratic and free society, sit by and justify condemning and bringing to trial those who have not leant that wars can only compound our eventual solutions to peace. And solutions will come; but only and once we rid our political culture of men like Dick Cheney, Ben Laden and all those who continue to miss educate future impressionable generations, that evil will bring good and evil can be equated with righteousness. This brings us to ask one question;
Ben Laden and Dick Cheney, what do they have in common? Their dogged selfish attitudes to the sanctity of life and the rule of civilized laws. And why do men like these seem to permeate the civilized world with bold and un-fearing Gaul, like the Hitler’s' of the planets’ dark and unforgiving past? Simply because we continue to give them focused audience. Or rather to clarify, the mass media forces us, by selecting as well as electing to displays these self induced misdirected men of colossal egos and their illusions of grander, treats us like people trapped in a locked theatre, forces us to listen, for their own profit taking exploits.
And as we now point to the mass media for bombarding us with what we need to know. And we in our anger now try to blame them for doing their jobs. We now truly recognize, the effect evil, evil men with their evil deeds have on the rest of us. They cause us to blame everyone and each other for every thing when they go wrong, so we forget them. As they hide in the dark shadows of their covert actions, more evil acts and their doers hidden, unfold. So now we understand their true strategy. Get us distracted in order to blame and hate each other, with such biased and clouded anger, we eventually blindly and without logic or compassion murder each other with zealous actions but sober and depressing remorse when we come to recognize the unwarranted pain and brutality in which they have craftily employed our participation. Regretful actions by the mislead based on their say and on their dishonest right.
President Obama, need not worry about breaking any promises he made to the former president about going on a hunt for those who broke our sacred laws. These men have shown no remorse, and promises have already been broken to the people who elected him. The mandate is important and should be honored. Honesty, commitment, full disclosure and the removal of impediments to access the truth. That's what we expect from a president elected on such a mandate. Anything else or less is an insult to the intellect of not just American citizens but a global people. Incidentally who or what is more important in this and all true democracies? I would like to think it’s the majority of the people in such a democracy. Americans at all levels respects and honors justice. It leads to trust in our leaders.
Don'T Blame ta payers for the Financial melt down
The foreclosure crisis, major US banks crashing, credit crunch at the hands of Wall Street fat cats and now the ordinary tax payers, most who never benefit from fair credit any way, is to again bear the brunt of the pain. Hard working people who pay taxes and have been denied on a regular basis fair credit, where they are never afforded a reasonable interest rate, should be angry.
Heck NO, they should be out raged. Even as we speak about crashing banks and crawling economies within the wall street community, these same financial institutions are squeezing the life blood out of these same tax payers they now want to gladly accept this burden as being of benefit to them. How do the ordinary tax payers benefit? Will they see any share of profits; will they see any reduction in their taxes; will they see lower credit interest rate and therefore lower credit card charges. THATS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!
The reality is that this bail out is for the greater benefit of Wall Street. If the Federal Government TRULY believe that Main street businesses will need credit to stay afloat, then just keep it simple, give main street the over $700 billion to help them stay afloat. Let these banks give true and real value to the homes in the foreclosure market; where many of these banks must have known that these assets were grossly over valued, yet allowed the gullible , upwardly mobile working class trying to hold on to the American dream to buy them anyway. The Fist move is to extend the loan that they have already given at a lower interest rate. Then bring the homes to their true market value. This will make homes more affordable. There will be no foreclosure, we will all make money and we will see a more stable market all round.
As we write; Wall Street gurus who have found ways to manipulate the credit and financial market to their benefit; and have billions stached abroad, are now sitting on their wealth awaiting an infusion from the very poor and hard working middleclass American tax payers, most of whom have no direct involvement with Wall Street and can and will never benefit form the billions and trillions of daily trades. Let them; Wall Street, put their money into their business of recovery. GIVE THE ordinary tax payer this $750Billion. If THIS IS DONE there won’t be any major fallout. And as we always know, whether it takes one or 10 year, Wall Street will rebound.
