Past and Present: The Starr Report and Clinton Impeachment

The report was overly aggressive and proved a disaster for the GOP, but its effects linger

Thank you, Major Kesselring. Politically honest military officers have been in short supply lately , but not you, sir.

As for the Clinton impeachment, the guy who led it in the House was now-Senator (and military reserve officer) Lindsey Graham, McCain's best buddy. He speaks of national security and actually did more to distract a pre-9/11 president and harm America with terrorism than anyone in the country. You'll just be lucky if this lying jerk is not elevated to a higher post by McCain.

Impeachment

The impeachment of Clinton was perpetrated by the Republican party, because they wanted to use it to obtain revenge for losing the election. However, when you really look at what George W. Bush has done to the country in contrast to the Clinton administration you have to only come to one conclusion:

What Clinton did to an intern, Bush has done to the whole country. This just shows how unfair the system of our government is. !!

The Starr report

In my personal opinion, That episode in the National history represents a lost opportunity for the Republician Congress & the the Democratic President to cooperate on significant issues critical to the American future. It also represents one of the worst partisan battles which were not based on policies but strictly on 'gotcha" politics. Hopefully, no future Congress or President will be absorbed by such petty & personal issues which effect the Nation's future opportunities for resolutoin & cooperation on issues which must be resolved & which will require the cooperation of both sides of the politica spectrum
