Was Barack Obama's "Lipstick on a Pig" Comment an Offensive Attack on Sarah Palin?

Was it an attack on Sarah Palin, or is the GOP cynically overreacting? Post your thoughts

Palin as President NOT!!!!! Going to happen

We as a country do not want Palin as our President Sarah if you can't take the heat from David late night stay out the kitchen. Obama will have second term then it will be Hillary Clinton. She knows what to say and how to act. Hillary is able to take the heat.

Palin as a Hockey Mom

Let the real hockey moms of the world decide:

1. How many of Palin's kids play hockey?

2. How many years have each of them played hockey?

3. At what level do each of them play?

Stupid-Stupid-Stupid

The comment was about the McCain doctrine being the same as the Bush doctrin. Anything can be taken out of context and twisted.

Perhaps Palin was calling her self a bitch when she compared her self to a dog. Do you suppose? Have you read about her scandle in Alaska? Maybe the shoe fits.

Lets take everything out of context and make it what we want, then it works for everyone.

Pit Bulls In Lipstick v. Pigs In Lipstick

What I don't understand is why hockey moms as well as women in general not up in arms about Sarah Palin calling hockey moms Dogs In Lipstick!

Whereas I have no particular cause to vote against a hockey mom on the strength that her kids play hockey, I do draw the line at voting for a dog, whether in lipstick or not.

Personally, I find Sarah Palin's comment likening women to dogs totally offensive. The McCain/Palin camp's accusation of Obama's remark regarding McCain's policies being likened to putting lipstick a pig but the pig being a pig lipstick or not is a smokescreen.....unless it's the GOP projecting because THEY believe Sarah Palin is a pig instead of the pit bull SHE SAID SHE IS.

Whatever the case, Palin, McCain AND Obama gives a strong reason to not share makeup. Everyone knows dogs lick their own butts and pigs root around in their own crap.

lipstick

This is a ridiculous distraction. It's not worth the virtual ink wasted on the debate.

Christian or Muslim Not the Issue

Sherry of CO - It is not a question of what religion Obama is. For 20 years, he sat in the pews of a radical pastor who spewed racism, and hatred toward our country. OB claims he was unaware of his pastors views. Even if that was true, what does it say about his judgement or perception of people? I don't want someone like that being the leader of this great nation. Does the fact that he befriended a man who bombed the U.S. Embassy (who I might add stated he was not sorry for what he did but wished he had done more), mean nothing? Check out some of his other associations. The biased media didn't even report on any of this until a year after it had been exposed. It only took them one day to jump all over Governor Sarah Palin when her nomination was announced. Do you ask yourself, "Why is this guy given a free pass? Why wasn't he better scrutinized? I'll tell you why. It's because the Media wanted him "in" and they did everything in their power to promote him and not expose him. I suggest you start doing your homework and ask yourself why our enemies would be very happy if OB gets voted in. Stop listening to the biased media, half-wit movie stars and MTV hosts. Oh, and by the way, things started going downhill in this country when the Dems. became a majority in Congress in 2006 when Dems wanted "Change." They made sure they voted down every bit of legislation set before them by the Reps who were trying to build our economy. We may have had a Republican President and VP, but it's the Congress who decides what legislation goes into effect. Get informed and be a responsible voter.

Re: Was Barack Obama's "Lipstick on a Pig" Comment an Offensive Attack on Sarah Palin?

No. It was an attack on John McCain. McCain is the pig here. Palin is the pretty lipstick. Put her on the pig/ticket and what do you get? Nothing. It's still the same ole, same ole. THAT is what I think Obama was saying.

Obama Switches to Hillary for Vice President

Why is Obama so worried about a woman on the other ticket?

Mark my word, we know what his plan is. We know that he will do anything to get the White House.

After Palin was selected, I predicted that he would drum up some excuse to replace Joe with Hillary (if his rating went down too far). And now we are hearing Joe talking about a throat problem. Joe telling people Hillary would make a better vice president then he, etc.

Come on! We know what you are doing, O!!! You are planning to replace Joe with Hillary. I expect that within two weeks "O" will phase Joe out and have Hillary on his ticket.

Of course, that is if his wife allows him to have the woman, she so hates, on his ticket.

OMG

I am woman raised in the upper middle class surburb of Indiana. (I have now moved to Cali) For those of you that don't know that is part of the Bible belt of America and GOP country.

I say all that to say I would be the 1st one to call foul on Obama if he was attacking Palin. Was it poor timing, yes. But is much to ado about nothing, yes again. But unlike some of you I saw the full coverage of what was said. It was about McCain's policies. Don't get caught in this hype please.

Though I do wonder why is it not sexist when McCain said the same thing about Hilary? Its like call the kettle black for the GOP to call foul.

With Obama we can all hear & watch what he said and interpret it the way we want. Was it about Palin only God & Obama know. But McCain same comment was unquestionably about Clinton and I hear no buzz about that.

And on another point couldn't the same be said about Palin's joke regarding community organizers? Most organizers are non white. According to Palin they have no real responsiblities. That could be degrading to the many who spend their lives to help their communities. And they are the ones that report to the senators, governors and mayors what the community needs.

I was more unnerved by her comments on that matter. In my mind flash Martin Luther King Jr, because under Palin's word he did nothing. Even John McCain had to try to clean up her blunder. He told Obama he respected all that he did as a community organizer.

If its expected of Obama to apolgize to Palin for something he doesn't believe he has done. Why isn't the same being asked of McCain for something he specifically did to Hilary? Or for that matter to Palin for demeaning all that community organizers do?
