Michelle is HAte-Filled and Confused
Personally I wouldn't want her spreading the Anti-American, Pro-Racism, Obama adoration that she has been spewing. After all she thinks that we are "just plain mean". Why do you people support a woman who hates you? I'll never understand that. Do you guys really hate yourselves that much???
Sarah Palin for VP did not sway the women's vote
As an educated career/family oriented woman I have not in the least bit been swayed to the Republican Party with McCain announcing Sarah Palin to be his vice presidential running mate. If anything with her lack of political experience is a deterrent for undecided voters to have any faith that she would be able to represent this nation at such a high-level of political power. McCain's and Palin's speech today was very unimpressive and lacked substance pertaining to the current economic strife within the U.S. and the massive issues pertaining to Foreign policies, and Energy Issues. After researching information about her as a woman I am appalled that Palin was what seems to be chosen simply because she was a woman and because of a few other issues at an attempt to sway woman voters and more Christian voters. There were many more highly qualified Republican candidates that have earned the right to have been chosen for such a responsible position. All this has done is turn voters from the Republican Party and be ashamed that in this day and age a woman was chosen based upon her looks and not her experience. The women's movement has just been set back again which is a shame. Hillary Clinton, Jennifer Granholm, Condoleezza Rice, Nancy Pelosi, Sandra Day O'Connor are a step forward for women and have proven their leadership skills and earned their place in history. Palin is at the infant stages of becoming a successful high-powered political figure. When her son serves in a combat zone in Iraq or Afghanistan than she can tell me what it feels like to have a son in the military. When she gives up her career to raise her five children, especially one with Down Syndrome than she can tell me what it is like to be a mother whose family comes first. As a career woman in order to climb the ladder of success there are consequences and one of them is the sacrifice your family has to make for your success. Michelle Obama's speech was very impressive and was more substantial in meaning than anything Palin had attempted to portray to the American people. Palin is not a safe choice for such a high ranking political position in America at this point in her career. Maybe in the future when she gains additional political experience, faces really tough issues, makes very critical decisions within our society and with foreign affairs, respects woman's rights and especially the right to choose, she will be in a better position to be in a political race of this highly important nature.
i think Michelle is probably a loving compassionate woman who really cares about people. I saw a woman, beneath the text of the speech, who really loves her husband. I saw her big heart. And I saw her as a bit nervous also
I don't think there should be Beef in a wifes speech necessarily, she's not a politician. Its her job to talk about what she knows, her life and her man so we can know both a bit better.
I found her sincere and I think I am a good judge of people usually. I like Bill Clinton's speech alot, but I thought underneath pretty deeply he's not that enthused with Obama (understandably when the alternative was his WIFE and a trip for himself back to the whitehouse)...tho I do see he prefers him certainly to McCain and thinks he'd be a more than adequate president. But there was a deep down lack of passion for Obama in Bill C's speech. I thought Hillary did a better job...more passion, and it seemed more emotionally honest...I think she believed what she was saying (i am not otherwise a fan of her normally)
I think Michelle obama spoke her truth, at least part of it also
Obama was pushed to write his autobiography when he was around thrity, and I read it. THis is Way before he thought to run for president. He wrote it himself. I read it then. He is a self aware, self-critical, normal, real person...he is NOT a snob, not empty. I am able to vote for him because I read his book and he was a pretty aware and thoughtful human being even at that young age. Nothing I see now contradicts who he seemed to be then.
As Gore said, Lincoln had exact same experience in the world prior to the presidency as Obama does now. Lincoln was a great president (I am not saying Obama is Lincoln but he does share some of the qualities) because of his personal qualities...inspirational leader and orator, strong integrity and convictions, intelligent, thoughtful and self aware and introspective (Lincolns letters are facinating)...read obamas first book I saw he was a person like this (except I couldn't tell the orator or leadership parts yet) in his autobiography
I think he is thoughtful has good judgment and ability to not be in denial when he needs advice and to find the best people to advise him if needed. I would trust him to do that.
I can see who he is. You should read his book. Gore is right as is Michelle, he's a great guy.
