What about lilegal don't you understand!!

I live in South Florida since 1950 and have seen the influx of Cubans since th 1960's and seen Miami Dade go from all English speaking residents to almost all spanish speaking residents. Cubans get another status "because they are from a communist country" (I don't agree that they should) but if they get on dry land in the united states, they are made Legal Citizens. Most of them obey the law, pay their taxes and help support their communities.

Now we are also inandated with "Illegals who come from, Mexico, Central America and South America. For some reason they do not think that they should have to come into this country the "legal" way. I understand that their life is not great in their countries, but instead of leaving why don't they try to do something about their own problems.

All of the Naturalized Citizens of the United States families came from other countries, but most of them came thrugh the legal way. I am not against the people that come legally, but to expect us to pay for illegals is not right.

They are not just doing "what the Americans Won't do, but they are taking over the building industry, the landscaping and lawn maintenance jobs that we were doing. They are working under the table and not paying taxes or using someone elses Social Securit Numbers (which it a federal crime) if they do pay taxes.

When am ICE offical shows up on a construction job there are very few people that do not disappear from the job. Doesn't that tell you something? Contractors will hire anyone who will work for less that Americans get paid. We need to get on the Contractors for doing that. It brings down the wages all over and makes it impossible to live here unless you have everyone working in your family.

Medicare has told me that South Florida is the Worse part of the country for Medicare Fraud. I can vouch for that. My social security number and my name has been used several times for medical supplies that I did not order. The amount was over $20,000. The majority of the people in Dade and Broward County that are hispanic, do not or refuse to learn the English language.

I sometimes feel that I am the one in a Forign Country. You go to the stores and they expect you to speak spanish.

I think that our government is not doing enough to get this mess straightened, but what do you expect when there are so many special interests and lobbyists getting into the middle of things. We put these people in office to work for us not them.

If we stopped catering to the hispanics, maybe things would be better for all of us. 'THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA OFFICIAL ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRY AND IF YOU WISH TO COME HERE, LEARN OUR LANGUAGE.

And while you are at it

Gives us back our Mexican land, the one you seized during the

US/Mexican War (1846-1848):

You bullied Mexico into giving up this land like a school yard bully. Who gave you the right to take land from Mexico.

This arrogance, which is still prevalent today, has caused a lot of grief, then and now, for the Mexicans.

That is how you stole Texas from Mexico, compensation not withstanding.

Is the US going to compensate those native americans and Mexicans who lived there FIRST?

And while we are at it, gives us back Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, California and Utah, which, again, you bullied and invaded Mexico in order to seize it.

LiBERAL LOSER FROM VA

I may be a liberal loser from VA but at least i take comfort in knowing that my rhetoric is backed up by facts. So shut your conservative piehole because the majority of crimes are done by Americans, not illegal immigrants.

In general, immigrants end up in prison at significantly lower rates than people born in this country - Rubén G. Rumbaut, a sociology professor at the University of California, Irvine, who studies immigrants and crime. Among men between the ages of 18 and 39, Mr. Rumbaut has found, Americans are five times more likely to land in prison than immigrants.

Another study this year done by the Public Policy Institute of California found that U.S.-born men have incarceration rates that are 2.6 times higher than those of foreign-born men and that evidence suggests that foreign-born individuals have very low rates of criminal activity.

To LPR of VA. Your papers please.

Of course we have a Liberal Loser from Virginia talking about Immigration as if she knows something about it. Guess what, you are just another ignorant fool who does not have a clue on the impact that Illegal Immigration is causing to the country as a whole. Come down to the border in Arizona or Texas before you open up your Liberal PIEHOLE...The majority of serious crime is being done by ILLEGALS down here.

Don not care about Illegals. Tired of the criminal behavior of Illegals overall.

I love this from the lady (RS of TX) whose Husband broke the law. Her take: "There are illegal immigrants out here who have worked hard to obey these immigration laws"

If they are ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS then they worked hard to BREAK the LAW.....

ICE and DHS are doing a great job!

I too agree that ICE and DHS are to be commended for carrying on their jobs fearlessly.

The anger of all Americans should be directed at the Congress and all the politicians who give great speeches but do know work. It is shameful that more than 12 million undocumented people are in the country with no constructive solution to the problem yet.

The lobbyists and businesses have their own self interest. Any good system is rejected. The first step would be to make the E-Verify program mandatory. This will reduce and eliminate illegal workforce and frauds. And stop demonizing and demoralizing those who enforce the laws!

You people have no idea what people in ICE's Custody go through

I am an American Citizen & my husband "was " and "is" a LPR of the United States of America now in ICE's custody in a detention holding facility. ALl you so called Americans (whining Americans) have no idea what it is like to be humilated by the United States government. We went by all the so called immigration rules, we paid our fees only to be let down and humilated. SO NO all you people want to do is whine about illegal immigrants taking your money, getting free medical coverage from the government. HA don't put everyone in the same boat, we paid our own bills and we pay for our own medical insurance, my husband puts his pants on like all you American men do to get up everyady and go to work to provide for his family. Not all illegal immigrants are out here mooching off you people. As far as ICE goes...yeah they are doing a great job collecting illegal immigrants but if your not white, you get pulled over and harrassed by local police who are profiling anyone who isn't white to find out if they are illegal. This is a bunch of bologna, so yes I am angry that my husband sits in a detention facility and get humilated by the correctional officers, not enough food, etc. So forgive me for praising ICE like you people are. No one knows what shoes everyone else is walking in uless you have been there. I am an American Citizen and I am walking in the shoes of someone ICE says is a illegal immigrant because the government is slow in getting some of these so called "illegals" legally in the United States. SO please forgive me for sounding so unamerican because at this moment I feel like I am illegal in my own country (USA) because of ICE. There are illegal immigrants out here who have worked hard to obey these immigration laws and look what happens when you try to do things legally. You get called an illegal. You people have no idea how it feels to be judged when you have done nothing wrong. Hopefully, the courts will decide on my husbands case and let him come home.

God Bless all you American People who judge others on things you know nothing of except "their taking away from us" whine whine whine.

Support ICE and the BP they are doing a great job.

Build the fence

I think your right, Mr. Battle

Congress indeed is responsible for creating this monster.

The problem is that these laws are racist and xenophobic in intent. If you remember, in 1996 congress passed the anti- terrorism and effective death penalty act (AEDPA) and the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsiblity Act ( IIRAIRA). AEDPA was passed in the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing and was meant to prevent the immigration of terrorists and increase the likelihood of their deportation once they got here. Despite the discovery that the OC bombing was the product of an American and not a foreigner, there was enough anti- immigrant hatred emanating from other terrorist incidents to push the legislation through. IIRAIRA played on a fear even more widespread than that of terrorism, it provided a vehicle for certain aspects of xenophobia existing then and now in America by claiming to correct the perception about the burden immigrants placed on social service resources and employment. These perceptions, met with very little opposition in congress.

And the most unamerican thing about this is that the monster congress has created can not be checked by the Judicial Branch. And why not? Because for close to a hundred years now, the Plenary Power Doctrine, a doctrine that urges judicial deference to the political branches of government on immigration matters has dominated federal court review of immigration laws and it's enforcement. This plenary power doctrine was set a precedent in a series of cases in which courts defended RACIST legistion passed to cure the nation of its perceived problem with Chiness Immigration. A supreme court ruling in the so-called Chinese Exclusion Case a century ago paved the way for today's congress carte-blache legislation regarding immigrants and deportation.

It doesn't help matters either when the head of ICE, Mrs. Myers is caught in a photo in an ICE sponsored Halloween party posing with a handcuffed white man who painted his face black and had a dreadlocks wig.

No, it's not ok -- either way

In response to Ana, a lot of people do in fact care about the invective directed at immigrants, but that doesn't make it okay to do the same to police officers. It works both ways.
