Illegals

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 signed by President Ronald Reagan on November 6, 1986) is an Act of Congress which reformed United States immigration law. The Act made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit illegal immigrants (immigrants who do not possess lawful work authorization), required employers to attest to their employees' immigration status, and granted amnesty to certain illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously. The Act also granted amnesty to several million illegal aliens, and its proponents promised (PROMISED) the American public that that would be the last (LAST) amnesty granted.

Do not allow Congress to continue lying to us. Vote this Nov. to remove the pro-illegals.

INVADE MEXICO

Why not? If they want to live in the United States anyway, and since Mexico doesn't have a REAL government, we should invade NOW. After all, how many incursions has the Mexican military made across the the border into U.S. territory this year alone? Just last week Mexican soldiers held a Border Patrol officer at gunpoint on OUR side of the border. Support a full-scale military invasion of Mexico so that the Mexicans can become Americans and they don't even have to leave home. Besides, as "you stole our land" from VA pointed out, we did it in the mid-19th century to get the western states. Of course, we then built a great nation out of that while the Mexicans had it for centuries and built squat, so judge for yourself who should own it.

And, no, we're not giving anything back - we won it fair and square. Next time, fight harder.

Illegal immigrants

Yes, I'm sure that most criminals are "terrorized" by law enforcement's attempts to apprehend them. Let's not even talk about jobs - 12 Americans, on average, are killed every day by illegal immigrants, people who aren't supposed to be here. Illegals usually get employment by social security fraud or identity theft, as they need a valid SSN to apply for most factory jobs. Drug smugglers use illegals as cover and a conduit for their drug shipments into the United States. Illegal immigrant females are sometimes forced into prostitution to "pay" for their trip, and end up as sex slaves if they survive at all. Stopping illegal immigration stops a lot of crime and misery. Want to come to the U.S.? Fine, get a visa like anyone else and do it legally.

Thank you for letting me know that I spelled some words wrong and that my vocabulary is not that great.

I am assuming that you are an English Teacher. I am glad to see that we have competent teachers in this country that are giving our children a good education.

I did not know that I would be graded on my vocabulary and spelling. I guess I got an F- from you.

By the way, I did know I spelled the words wrong I just hit the submit button to early. I did not see "spell Check" on the comment page.

Dear Judi from FL:

Why don't *you* learn our language?

Don't get me wrong, you have a good message. I, too, believe in proper enforcement of our laws. But the way you insist that other people learn English when you obviously have such a weak grasp of it yourself is ludicrous.

In your first sentence alone, you changed verb tense three times and two of them were conjugated incorrectly. You failed to capitalize Spanish (I don't care about your politics, it is a rule of *English* that languages are capitalized). Not to mention the fact that your entry is "ianadated" with spelling errors, which is amazingly lazy since there is a built-in spell checker. The "Worse" part about it is that you probably didn't even realize that any of these were errors.

The next time we're debating this important issue, don't try to help. You just make those of us who want real laws look ignorant and hypocritical.

Illegal immigrants terrorize local communitys

The comment that ICE officers terrorize the illegal immigrants in a community is unbelievable. From what I have noticed in my community of Minneapolis, the local people have been terrorized through economic means by the illegal immigrants. Imagine if U.S. citizens indiscriminately entered another nation and set up homes there and took jobs. The local economy and livelihood of those in the area would suffer greatly. The only one that is promoting these actions are the ones that benefit, the illegals and the companies that hire them. Of course companies like the illegals, they can exploit them and make a fortune at it. The illegals love this country for the wage and opportunities it offers. What about the folks in the communities that are displaced by these low wage replacements? How about the strain on the social services from the influx of uninsured people? When will the government finally do what it is mandated to do, and represent the legal citizens of this country? When will Mexico and the like, start to make life worth living there?

Immigration "policy" is not about either ICE or a fence. It is about financially penalizing American corporations who wink and hire non-citizens on the cheap. After you fine a few of those so heavily as to run them (and their officers) completely bankrupt, most of the "problem" will go away and the suddenly unemployed Mexicans (and others) will go home.

Think John McCain will advocate this? Not on your life. He'll fix you up with a "guest worker" sham that takes your job right out from under you, while tricking you with "My friends" crap at a mile a minute.
