WAKE-UP, AMERICA
Americans are just sore losers ruled under a even bigger loser - our president bush, ha ha!!! MASS DESTRUCTION WEAPONS = UNDERAGE-LOOK CHINESE GYMNASTS. sounds familiar?
A bit of Research Goes a Long Way
From the following article:
http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing/gymnastics/news?slug=dw-gymnastsage081408&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
"gymnast He Kexin was born Jan. 1, 1994, which would make her 14 and too young to compete in these Summer Olympics....As recently as December 2007, in provincial gymnastics meets and news reports that covered it, she was a 13-year-old prodigy, too young for the 16-year-old Olympic age limit for gymnastics....Earlier this year China produced her passport that claimed she was born Jan. 1, 1992, making her old enough to perform a brilliant uneven bar routine and push China to the women’s all around gold medal...."
and further down...
"The birth date of Yang Yilin was listed on official national registration lists posted by the General Administration of Sport of China website from 2004-2006 as a too-young Aug. 26, 1993, according to the AP.
On her passport her birth date is Aug. 26, 1992.
Jiang Yuyuan’s birthday was Oct. 1, 1993 as recently as a registration list for a 2007 competition. According to her passport she was born Nov. 1, 1991."
Despite the fact that the author of this story did the research for me, I found it quite compelling proof that something is fishy.
I'm appalled at the name-calling going on (i.e. "chinks"). When you say something like that you lose all credibility due to coming off as biased and even racist.
However, I do not think China deserves these golds. There are legitimate reasons why this rule was put in place, and under no circumstance should be bending or ignoring of them be allowed.
Anyways, I would recommend reading the aforementioned article.
China will lose face after the games
It is well known that the age requirement is 16 (liukin who won the top individual medal was held out in Athens because she was only 15 at the time ... had she been Chinese, her papers would be forged, and she would have competed).
It does not matter who won, ref. the dopey responses above. Rules are rules.
The Gymnastics was just the tip of the iceberg. Non existent bullseye on the rifle range, phantom punches in boxing, deductions to competitors in Tae Kwon Do (sorry, that is the Koreans cheating, just like in Seoul), hormonal girls in weight lifting. It is all there.
There will be books written in the next two or three years, after investigations on how China cooked the books.
They will not do near as well in London, as there will be more integrity, more fairness there.
cheating ass chinks
nuff said
making assumptions doesn't help
does anyone here have any solid evidence that those chinese gymnasts are underage? None, right? then please stop making all kinds of assumptions...we can't just judge one's age by his or her look. chinese lost the gold medals tally in the last olympics games, so what? they learned and worked hard, and they achieved big in this olympics. IF WE LOST, WE LOST. forget about it, work even harder and give your best shot in the next olympics games, instead of accusing others. i think that would give us a better hope in london 4 years later.
nonsense question
If a girl has frequent sexual activities earlier at her age, her body changes, becomes more mature and thus looks older than a girl who never had or less sex yet, because of the hormones in her body. So, in this case the Chinese gymnasts probably never had any sexual activities, or at least not as much or earlier as American gymnasts. That is why the Chinese gymnasts look much younger than the American ones.
STUPID QUESTION
the answer to the question could be either yes or not. it is soley at your own discretion to give opinion by telling from the appearances of the chinese gymnasts, nothing more. is it fair to judge a person by his or her look without any solid evidence? totally irresponsible question!!!
Cheating
Any country who breaks the Olympic rules should be stripped of there medals ANYONE! During the vault the Chineese team captain had 3 mistakes including falling to her knees but she was given a higher score then our 2 gymnits who were PERFECT. Like Bella said the scoring in 2 events the uneven bars and the vault were totally unfair. Now there are 3 uderage and the Olympic Comm looks at a passport..........that is pathetic anyone can get a fake passport, DUH!
China should be stripped of all the gold med. in the all around Team and those 3 gym. should also be stipped of there med. also if all of them did med.
If the US did it I would still give the same reply!
underaged gymnast what do you mean so what
yes the chinese girls beat us and they did a very good job at it. But if you have children how can you say so what. I'm trying to teach my child that there are rules that apply in every sport he plays in and what am I supposed to say when an athletes cheats, when athletes use illegal drugs to win or when they lie about ages and forge documents just to win. How am I supposed to instill morals and fair play into my child when not only are these girls breaking RULES but are awarded gold medals for it! If you have a child think how you would feel if they got beat by someone that broke the rules when you did everything you could to win the RIGHT way. Look at your kids and the future of young athletes and then say so what. If it was boxing and you found out the guy in your wt class was really 50 lbs heavier than his paperwork says and he pounds the floor with you, you might be a bad loser too.
