Public Opinion: Has John McCain Gone Too Negative Against Barack Obama?
Is the Republican candidate's attack a legitimate criticism, or has he crossed a line?
John McCain has accused Barack Obama of preferring to "lose a war in order to win a political campaign" and over the weekend said that Obama's position on pulling out of Iraq is "political" and made "in order to help him get the nomination of his party." Obama allies say that the Arizona senator has gone back on his vow to run a civil general-election campaign. Is McCain's attack legitimate, or has the presumptive Republican nominee become excessively negative? Post your thoughts below.

McCain too negative? Yes
McCain looks more and more desperate and his town hall meetings are frightening angry mobs. Looks like a clan rally. like watching watching someone drown in his own negativitiy and bitterness. Sarah Palin is a truly frightening, unqualified, nasty person. Impossible to imagine that she is being considered as a VP, she is beyond unacceptable. McNasty and the pit bull? No thank you!
Presidential Election 2008
Before selling his soul to the Bush crowd, I supported Mr. McCain. Having listened very carefully to Mr. Obama, I just haven't heard anything of substance. The former Libertarian from Texas is the only candidate left standing who has any plausibility with me,but, admittedly, 6% of the vote isn't likely to prevail.
