Public Opinion: John McCain's Complaints About Media Bias Toward Barack Obama

Have the media gone in the bag for Obama, or is McCain jealous of losing the affections of his "base"?

Political Tiger

Obama is the tiger woods of politics. In the US We like our presidents youthful and smart. McCain't got it.

Try making "a google"

Oh boo hoo. The Bushies said the same thing about McCain in 2000...i.e. accused the media of favoring McCain and ignoring their candidate.

If McCain were only capable of making "a Google" he would see plenty of coverage of his campaign.

Finally a world leader the world loves

I think its great that we as a country are finally with a leader we can be proud of. Im sure the honeymoon won't last forever, but after 8 years of being scorned and laughed at for having an inarticulate, uneducated, class clown for our President, its nice to hold our heads up and show the world that we do have values. Let's just enjoy it for a moment.

McCain . . . quit whining!

Seriously? Is this all McCain has left at this point? Maybe he should just stand on a street corner and wave his cane at "those darn skateboardin' kids!!!" Get a life (or a campaign, for that matter). And he thinks we're the whiners? McCain called out Obama about not going to Iraq or Afghanistan . . . now that his trip is a huge success, McCains crying about not getting any coverage. We don't need a grumpy old gramps for president. He doesn't even know the difference between Sunni and Shi'ite, doesn't know that Czechoslovakia hasn't existed since 1993, doesn't know that Putin is from Russia, can't tell the difference between Iraq and Afghanistan . . . ect., ect. What a joke!!! This guy needs a big bowl of prunes and a diaper change!!

RE: Cry me a river

Regarding Cry me a river

Obama is not whining?

What about the cover of New Yorker?

What about his request to leave his wife alone?

What about his request to not discuss his church?

What about his request to not discuss Rev. Wright?

What about his request to not discuss links to Weather Underground?

What about his comments about the questions during his last debate? Go read his comments. It was direct whining.

Complete Media Bias

Its amazing the treatment this guy is getting.

His campaign platform is essentially raise taxes, have the government subsidize and regulate every aspect of life. He has consistently voted to the left position in the party. A party who swept into power in 2006 congressionals and may be one of the more anemic legislature in years!

He is only marginally different from Kerry.

Yet has been lionized as a savior. It's amazing how his FIRST TRIP to Iraq and Afghanistan has been deemed " a success" before it's over.

I asked one of the young Obama supporters who asked my to register to vote for him "What in his background and experience gives you confidence he can get any of these things done in the senate or as a state rep." He couldnt answer.

WHen the NYT is telling the other candidate to write articles juse like Obama's someting is a miss.

Are you kidding?

The media are completely in the bag for Obama. They are so infatuated with the idea of a black man being president that it makes them tremble when they think of it.

This is a man whose experience on the economy is limited to balancing his own checkbook; whose experience on war and national security is limited to what he sees on the nightly news; a man who never served in the United States military; a man whose foreign policy experience is limited to what he reads in the news magazines, notwithstanding this weeklong photo op with his news groupies.

My daughter, who is 21, says she supports Obama. When I asked her to tell me why she supports him, she said she didn't want to talk about it. She didn't want to talk about it because she doesn't know why she supports him. I doubt that many of his supporters, if asked the same question, would be able to answer it any better than she did.

The bottom line: Barack Obama is a good-looking, articulate empty suit! And the fawning hordes of so-called journalists in the news media in this country will get him elected. That will be a very sad day.

I'm not sure what news programs you watch, DMS, because I have seen PLENTY of negative reporting of Obama - even more so than John McCain, who lately has flip-flopped his way out of the straight-talk express (I would have voted for McCain had Bush not weaseled the nomination from him back then). They are under-reporting McCain's negative issues in my opinion, where they ALWAYS seem to report on every little stupid issue that someone has with Obama (flag lapel-pin, really??).

I think people seem to be misconstruing opinion shows with actual news reporting. I have never seen overtly political bias in the nightly news, cable newscasts (including Fox), and print media. It's EXTREMELY apparent that these newscasts try their best to report in the most factual way possible, even if sometimes they choose to cover questionable stories.

However, there is plenty of bias in the O'Reilly Factors, Hannity & Colmeses, Countdowns, and Hardballs of the world, but these shows should not be included when thinking of "news programs". Pure opinion, plain and simple.

Steven O Shaw of Washington is RIGHT

I agree with you!

OBAMA SELLS FOR MEDIA

Obama is younger and perhaps more interesting and charismatic than McCain. In addition, Studies show that youth and good looks sell more products and services than age and wisdom. The advertisor's will not support the media (i,e, Places ads with networks)whom do deliver the botton line for dollars spent. Clearly, there is a simple underlying equation and fundamental(s), Which do not surprise me! You will continue to see more Obama than McCain because it helps the economy at large!
