Blog Buzz: Barack Obama in Iraq and Beyond, McCain's Faltering Affair With the Media, and Vice Presidential Speculation

I personally agree with the blogger, as I think that Barack Obama is the right and the deserving candidate for the new presidential post and also because I think that the americans have had enough of the republicans (George W. Bush), and I dont think that anyone would want to vote for the republicans, as they are the reason America is in such a mess. Therefore I think that, Obama who is considered a messiah is one person who should be elected as the president and given a chance to prove himself and take out America from the mess it currently is in and take it on the road to peace away from war and violence.

We just wasted $One Trillion in Baghdad, pop 500,000 ! That's $4 Million for every citizen in Baghdad !

I'm sure that each and every citizen in Baghdad would have rather had the $4 Million given to them in CASH, instead of seeing $One Trillion Dollars in USA BOMBs dropped into the Iraqi desert SAND ! Modern Warfare is fought with Dollars, not BOMBS. We could have bought all of the Large Buildings, Banks, OIL companies, and Vital Industries and Utility companies in IRAQ for just a few Million Dollars. If you Financially control all of the Assets and Industry of a Country, you can virtually dictate everything that done in that country. Just look at how Japan bombed and failed to conquer Hawaii in 1941. Then they came back in 1995 and just bought all of the Assets on the Hawaiian Islands, for just a few Million Dollars. Bill Clinton, a Financial Genius, knew that WAR was Obsolete when he took office. He never would have gotton us involved in an 8 Year Land War in the Desert. He was much too smart for that. I really cannot blame George Bush for being possibly the dumbest person on Earth, but I can blaim the Democrats for not being able to Impeach BUSH over an 8 Year span. Now the Democrats want to control the USA, when they could not even Impeach BUSH, a very obvious stupid Republican President. While BUSH raped the American citizens, with this $5 Dollar GAS, he made his OIL Buddies RICH !

McCain

At one time I was tempted to vote for McCain. But unfortunately he has become enslaved by the man he is trying to escape (Bush). Thanks to his own finance law, there is no more soft money allowed by presidential candidates. So now he has to play the shut-your-mouth-but-open-your-wallet-game while still presenting himself as a maverick. But unfortunately, even after having been crowned the presumptive Republican nominee months before the Democratic nominee, he still hasn't been able to form a formidable grassroots fundraising machine. I'm starting to think that he really is being bankrolled by millionaires, or that all his supporters are dying off.

It is beautifully ironic that Republicans now have found a free-market system they didn't like--Obama's internet fundraising, and the media's supposed propensity to follow a guy who just seems to connect with people. The media follows what people want to read and talk about. It's not Obama's fault that McCain has all the pizazz of a Wal-Mart greeter.

This is such a spot-on post, I have to repeat it:

"It's about judgment, my friends....

“And I believe that the success will be fairly easy” and “There's no doubt in my mind that... we will be welcomed as liberators.” [John McCain 3/24/03]

“There's not a history of clashes that are violent between Sunnis and Shias. So I think they can probably get along.” [John McCain 4/23/03]

“Look, we're going to send young men and women in harm's way and that's always a great danger, but I cannot believe that there is an Iraqi soldier who is going to be willing to die for Saddam Hussein, particularly since he will know that our objective is to remove Saddam Hussein from power."

[John McCain 9/15/02]

"But the fact is, I think we could go in with much smaller numbers than we had to do in the past. But any military man worth his salt is going to have to prepare for any contingency, but I don't believe it's going to be nearly the size and scope that it was in 1991." [John McCain 09/15/02]

"He's a patriot who has the best interests of his country at heart." ]John McCain on Ahmed Chalabi, 2002]

"Absolutely. Absolutely." [John McCain, asked by Chris Matthews, "you believe that the people of Iraq or at least a large number of them will treat us as liberators?" 03/12/03]

I think the victory will be rapid, within about three weeks. [John McCain, MSNBC, 1/28/03]

It’s clear that the end is very much in sight. … It won’t be long. It, it’ll be a fairly short period of time. [John McCain, ABC, 4/9/03]

We’re either going to lose this thing or win this thing within the next several months. [Meet The Press, 11/12/06]

"Well, then why was there a banner that said mission accomplished on the aircraft carrier?" [John McCain, responding to assertion by Fox News' Neil Cavuto that "many argue the conflict isn't over," [John McCain, 06/11/03]

"My friends, the war will be over soon, the war for all intents and purposes although the insurgency will go on for years and years and years." [John McCain, 02/25/08]

this talk by McCain about being willing to win a war than an election sounds like he is willing to go to war unilaterally without the support of the american people

McCain - Fit to Serve?

While I respect Mr. McCain's service and what he went through as a POW, I have serious concern about his actions upon his return. He, with the advantage of having an admiral for a father, was not prosecuted as other returning POW for collaborating with the enemy. Later, Mr. McCain along with John Kerry headed the effort to shut down all investigation into remaining POW/MIA in order to open up trade with Vietnam. His father-in-law immediately opened up a multi-billion dollar beer industry there.

I also have concerns about his mental fitness as well, specially since he will not release his old medical records even though the term PSTD was not in use as an official diagnosis when he first returned. The one time he did release these records to a journalist, much was blacked out. He later released them in 1999 to a physician who wrote him a clean bill of health without the benefit of a personal examination but rather on whatever records he was provided.

“Among U.S. servicemen taken captive during the Korean War, as many as nine out of 10 survivors may suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental disorders more than 35 years after their release, psychologist Patricia B. Sutker of the New Orleans Veterans Administration Medical Center and her colleagues report in the January AMERICAN JOURNAL OF PSYCHIATRY.”

'Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, can result from wartime trauma such as suffering wounds or witnessing others being hurt. Symptoms include irritability or outbursts of anger, sleep difficulties, trouble concentrating, extreme vigilance and an exaggerated startle response.'

What are the odds of McCain not suffering from some degree of PTSD?

I do not say any of this lightly as I have worked with vets for over thirty years to help them get their benefits for PTSD. My father served in the Army for 33 yrs as a CWO4. All three of my brothers also served, two in Vietnam.

But I have even more concerns about his current voting record towards our young veterans of today. His lack of support for their medical care is appalling. He even voted against more time at home between tours. Now he votes against the new GI bill for vets because he feels it may discourage re-enlistments. How about supporting the vets to encourage re-enlistment? He runs on a platform of being a vet, yet doesn't support them.

Our Next president

Dear American Citizens and the Press

As a concerned citizen, I consider it is my duty to bring following message to you all.

"We the citizens of the United States of America have the ultimate responsibility to elect the " Right Candidate" to lead our nation, out of our huge present and future internal and external challenges as well as opportunities. This is to prevent depression and isolation in-spite of being the only superpower in the world morally, democratically, economically, and militarily.

We need to consider the "critical qualities and characteristics" of our presumptive presidential nominees at the time we vote.

In my personal and professional opinion the critical considerations are as under:

1. Calm, cool, and collected " temper " [ Presidential Temperament ].

2. Sound and sustained "Judgment and Caliber".

3. "Thought-fullness and togetherness" of purpose and positions.

4. Minimum "ex-poser and exploitation" around "Washington and Washington insiders".

5. Renewed " Vigor and Vision " for our Greatgrand Nation.

6. Foreign policy based on " American Values, Virtuous, Vastness".

Stay informed, stay involved, and stay engaged. Do not allow some partisan media, pundits, pollsters, and perpetual political opinion makers effect your vote in the wrong direction.

Don't be effected and duped by "Psychological Terrorism" that is afflicted upon you all the time.

Long live U.S.A and its diverse but democratic people.

What the 2009 Elections Tell Us About 2010

By Tom Davis

Seven lessons the parties need to learn from Tuesday's races.

The 2009 off-year elections in Virginia, New Jersey, and New York's 23d Congressional District offer a small snapshot of the current views and motivations of the American electorate. While there may be a desire to extrapolate the events of Nov. 3, 2009 into a prediction of what will happen on Nov. 2, 2010, that is impossible.
