Public Opinion: Barack Obama's Iraq Trip—Bolstering His Credibility or No Difference?

Obama says he would still oppose the Surge in Iraq even though the Surge has worked and even though the Surge has worked Obama says it was the wrong stradegy. Although a Surge in Afghanistan is the right stradegy. And if he's the CIC, he may or may not have regard for or listen to the General's advice. What kind of garbage is that? He cant have it both ways. And how do you visit Iraq and meet soldiers and then proceed to knock them upside the head with such comments? Good judgement huh? Not so much.

Obama might be right after all

Obama's trip to the war zones is a good thing. If he gets into the president's chair he is going to have much learning to do in a short time, but at least, unlike Bush and his despicable cronies, he is reaching out to the leaders in these parts of the world -- something that we should have done many years ago -- as a friend, rather than as some neighborhood thug that wants to be a tough guy. As for experience, Kennedy also lacked the experience of foreign policy, yet he made some of the best decisions of his time, taking blame for the failures. So many are afraid of obama because, after all, he might be right after all.

Obama Trip

I too am appalled at this circus performance. The sheer number of his entourage should give people a clue that something is terribly amiss. The idea that a US Senator would campaign in other countries for his bid as president in the US is absurd and one trip to the Middle East does not suddenly make anyone an expert on foreign and/or military relations and policies. Considering Obama has not officially recieved the nomination as the Democratic candidate its embarrassing he attempts to pass himself off as already elected and acts as if he is the sitting president. And why is it in several news stories his trip has been described as "shrouded in secrecy?" Shouldnt the American people know what's being said in our names/interests? I have no doubt that what is sent via the media from Obama's campaign in regards to this trip has been carefully scripted and controled. And how does one admit to the positive gains from the Surge in Iraq and in the same breath say knowing what you know now you would still oppose the Surge? There couldnt be a larger slap in the face given to our soldiers than that. What were the Democrats thinking when they choose Obama?

Obama's Trip

I have never been so appauled to see the drive-by media allowing Obama to go across the world as if he has already been elected. He can't even give credit where credit is due. We are winning in Iraq because of tremendous sacrifices and Obama is trampling on each one. Our troops are dying for you and me everyday and President Bush has taken every media bashing with courage, yet Obama is out there for the whole world to see a what a mockery he is making of our country. Obama has no experience and all of a sudden he's going to save the world. Sorry folks, but it took Obama 20 years to figure out that his church preached DAMN America. What else do you need? All this media coverage for Obama shows just how arrogant you really are. The drive-by media is literally destroying our country piece by piece. No loyalty or respect to anyone. The lies add up day after day. Our enemies don't care if we are democrat, republican, rich, poor, black, white, jew, christian, atheist, man woman or child. They are out to kill every last American. Our enemies preach DAMN America to their children stupid. For Obama to parade across the world in an airplane that our country's flag has been removed for his own personal logo shows the whole world how really stupid and arrogant Americans are. Why don't I hear anything about Obama's forged birth certificate? Why can't you just tell the truth for once?

Obama Trip

For a person who has prejudged much of the middle east, and perhaps only one trip heretofor, Obama is dangerous, if not toally naive on international relations. In a word he is an "empty suit! He will tell people what the want to hear and we lived through another one of those, called Bill. Just as i never trusted Bill from day one, I don't trust Obama, and no one else should.

obama's trip

What does it mean to us that Europeans may or may not like our possible President? What are you fools? What makes you think that Europeans have in their hearts the best interest for Americans. Because they are weak and passee they will want an America weak and irrelevant. All that Europeans can do is talk and do nothing, if we intervene to solve problems then we are arrogant, and if we don't, we are blamed for all the world problems. Awake people!

A let's wait and see stance...

So far I've witnessed political mistake after political mistake from the Democrats as well as the Republicans so I will wait and see, even as I vote for Barack Obama. He's the better candidate in most arenas and I'm suspect that he'll do just fine in this particular arena.

OBAMA TRIP

Senator Obama strikes fear in my mind, he has no straight path he sways as the wind blows. Put it in writting. Please one, please all, or please many just have him make up his mind.

Obama Trip

When in the world is the American Public going to wake up? Obama has no expereince in foreign affairs. I give him credit that he has a good command of the english language and that,s why he has a following of sorts. The only reason he is in Iraq is he was shamed into it and in my opinion his advisors told him it would be good publicity. We don't need a glib talker. What we need is a president that will get things done by helping the working class (not raising taxes as Obama has consistenely said he would do). We need a president that will get rid of the crooked politicians. We need a president that will get manufacturing back in the USA. Remember the good old days when foreign countrys reveled at the opportunity to buy "MADE IN AMERICA". That man in John McCain.
