Public Opinion: Barack Obama's Iraq Trip—Bolstering His Credibility or No Difference?

obama trip

In 2006 when the Dem. Party gained controll of the Sen. He was given a Chairmaship over seeing US involvement in Easten Europe as well Afganistan. How many hearings or meeting has this commitee held. He hasn't done his own job, or homework. What difference will there be, other than to be a photoop. His grasp of his own job, will be what the backroom boys tell him. The real prize is the appointment to the High Bench, and ability to rewrite and controll law for the next 40yrs.

Obama Trip

Obama has as much foreign policy experience as McCain has military experience.

There is no on the job training for leadership.

The question is what personal beliefs will interfere with learning and how much baggage will keep a leader from seeing the whole picture.

The campaign trail is not a good place to see the road ahead.

Iraq

Some persons keep complaining that we never should have gone into Iraq because Iraq because they never attacked us.

Germany never attacked us, Japan did. Korea never attacked us, neither did Vietnam. Find another topic to complain aabout.

Experience

This man is in so far over his head and he knows it. The very fact that he's got 300 foreign policy advisors says it all. 300???? Give me a break! Without a teleprompter, this man is a disaster, ummmmmmmming and ahhhhhhing and flip-flopping with whatever his audience wants. Whenever any reporter DARES to pin him down with a substantial question or DARES to ask him a follow-up question, he laughs it off and changes the subject and never answers.

Reporters with this rag and the rest of the mainstream media Obamanation need to start doing their job and quit fawning and gushing. THEN we'll see how "mature" and "presidential" this man really is.

Look behind the curtain, Toto!

Obama

Wisheee washeeee all over again! Lets stay with one policy (cleaned up a little) rather than going to never never land with an unproven, inexperienced, pretty face! Send him abck to school (Senate) to get more experience and basic knowledge... like a presidential term is FOUR to EIGHT years, not FIVE to TEN. He could be a refreshing change once he grows into the real world. I'll look for him in eight more years.

Barack Obama Is Change

America made the mistake of selecting Bush twice. This country's infrastructure is a mess, jobs declined all during this administration. America attacked and occupied a country that did not attack it, killed and tortured human beings in and outside it. It sent soldies into combat zones unprepared. It broke International laws, wouldn't be a part of international and environmental law organizations. It lied to and spied on it's citizens, used scare tactics to control them, allowed their names to be put on terrorists lists.

Republicans mismanaged the economy several times over the years, bailed out banks and large companies. Aloowed Gas Companies to control the agenda and gauge consumers.

Allowed Halliburton, a (Cheney run) company, and others to steal from taxpayers and receive no bid contracts. Hired Blackwater, a Texas company to run amok in Bagdad. So much more, ...

One thing stands out about Barack Obama that is less noticeable in John McCain (as well as many others) and that is --- maturity. This is a very important quality for anyone to have if they wish to perform well in the Oval Office. It is something George W. Bush doesn't have and will never have --- and our nation has suffered the consequences. So that's the change I advocate: elect as president only mature individuals. Can I precisely define "maturity?" No, but in the words of a certain Supreme Court justice, "I know it when I see it" --- and I see it in Barack Obama.

Obama

He might be up to the job of the presidency in ten years if he held his job long to get experience. The back room politicians have put him on the ticket, not the voters.

Obama

Obama doesn't have a clue about foreign affairs and very little about domestic issues. A few days on a party trip won't provide anything except a good time.

This man is an empty suit. Not one piece of legislation has he passed; voted "present" over one hundred times while playing in the Illinois Senate. No platform, except "change", but still no definition of that "change". What we do in this country shouldn't be predicated on what the rest of the world thinks. We should do what is best for the U.S. That certainly shouldn't be predicated on what Europe thinks of this college freshman that wants to be president.

Obama's Overseas Trips

I think he is just taking advantage of the press to help his cause. He has little, actually no, experience in this area so it's important for him to get a first hand view and maybe that will help him shape his future views if he is elected president. I am not an Obama supporter but I do believe a more compassionate view of the USA is necessary if we are ever going to get the people who hate us to like us a little. I do not think the trip alone is going to make him an expert. He is going to have to rely on the military and diplomatic experts to get things done.
