Public Opinion: McCain-Romney? Whom Should McCain Select as His Vice Presidential Running Mate?

Posted July 1, 2008

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has emerged as the (for now) favorite to be John McCain's running mate, according to a report in Politico. Other favorites include former Rep. Rob Portman of Ohio and Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, with former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, current Govs. Charlie Crist of Florida and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, and Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia rounding out the shortlist. (Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Connecticut independent who was Al Gore's running mate in 2000, is also mentioned.) Whom should McCain select as his running mate, and why? Post your thoughts below.

JUST AN AVERAGE AMERICAN

DEAR FUTURE PRESIDENT

I BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE THE ONE THAT WILL WIN JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE WISDOM. PEOPLE SAY YOU ARE OLD BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT OLDER PEOPLE HAVE THE WISDOM.

I LISTENED TO THE DEBATE TONIGHT AND YOU WON!

LET'S SEE WHAT THE MEDIA SAYS. I KNOW WHAT I HEARD. EVERYTHING YOU SAD WAS RIGHT. OBAMAMZ SAID ALOT OF RIGHT THINGS TOO. BUT NOT WITH YOUR WISDOM AND KNOWLDGE.

REMEMBRR - I AM JUST AN AVERAGE AMERICAN.

McCain-Palin 2008

Sarah Palin, the conservative Governor of Alaska is pro-life, a mother of five, an NRA member and would be the only executive amongst the three other Senators.

Her youngest child was born with down syndrome which was diagnosed during pregnancy.

Its one thing to say your pro-life, but Sarah Palin not only talks the talk but walks the walk.

I'm always worried about all of those springs and flywheels popping out at the wrong time with Mitt Robot.

Stay close to your roots.

"If all things are rooted in the love of God, they cannot fail." Mitt Romney's courageous stand on his faith showed America where his roots lie. My opening statement speaks for itself.
