Public Opinion: The Supreme Court Strikes Down the D.C. Gun Ban—the Right Decision?
In its first major ruling on gun rights, the Supreme Court ruled today that Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting. The ruling struck down the District of Columbia's 32-year-old ban on handguns. Was the court correct? Post your thoughts below.

Supreme Court Ruling
I whole heartedly agree.
Correction
Of course, there was an error and sursurped is supposed to be USURPED (and it's exactly what the court did - in gradual steps - until it was ruling over everybody!)
With that group of nine judges, the USA has now become an oligarchy (instead of a democracy)!
Please correct. Thanks.
Supreme Court's Power/Rights
To me, the constitution is absolutely clear on giving citizens the right to bear arms.
It's scary how close the court came to overturning our constitution!
How could they have sursurped SO MUCH power? The Supreme Court is supposed to be EQUAL in power to the legislature and executive branches and, originally, only decided things that that were clearly outside of the jurisdiction of the individual states - like land that two states claimed at the same time or agreements with other countries.
