Public Opinion: Should the United States Allow Offshore Drilling for Oil and Gas?

Posted June 17, 2008

Sen. John McCain has called for an end to the federal moratorium on offshore drilling for oil and gas. He hopes the move would help alleviate the rising cost of energy. Critics say that it would do little to lessen U.S. dependency on foreign oil but would threaten the environment. Should the United States repeal the offshore drilling ban? Post your thoughts below.

off shore drilling

we have hundereds of years worth of oil that our government uses to move huge navy rigs. maybe the problems not that we are drilling so much that it hurts the environment maybe the problem is that we pissed to many people off in other countries so now we need huge armys just to keep from being burned to thwe ground..
