Tim Russert

For me, it was by way of TV, for my wife, it was through the medium of his books, We can only express our heartfelt sorrow for the loss of such a great man to both his family and his friends. It truly is a great loss for all of us, even if we did not have the privilege of knowing Tim personally.

Tim Russert & the Presidential Primary Debates

Tim Russert has been and always will be one of my favorite TV political analysts...because he was tough, but fair-minded. He was always prepared and organized and woe be to the guest who was not...he put both Democrats and Republicans, as well as Independents, on the 'Hot Seat.' He was objective and asked the questions that the viewing audience wanted answers to...he would come at a guest in two or three different ways, but he would move on in a short period of time if he realized the politician was not going to answer the question.

I sent ABC News an e-mail a few months ago after the horrendous and outrageous questioning of Barack Obama...regarding Rev. Wright by George Stephanaupolos and Charles Gibson, which took over half the debate time...approximately 45 minutes! They totally ignored the most important political issues that face us all for half the debate...Tim Russert would have never conducted himself in such a non-professional manner. The bottom-line statement was: "Stephanaupolos and Gibson are not qualified to carry Tim Russert's briefcase!"

I Will Miss Him Very Much...And So Will All Americans Who Are Intelligent, Politically-Minded and Want the Truth from their Politicians and People in Power! Tim Russert was a poster-boy for American Democracy!

My Heart Goes Out to Tim's Family, Friends and Co-Workers! Tim Russert was One of the Good Guys!

May GOD BLESS TIM RUSSERT and His Family!

Tim Russert

"Meet the Press" was part of my Sunday morning drill. I could count on an intellegent interviewer / moderator who controlled his show to bring me information I could actually use to help build an informed opinion on the politics of my country.

Direct, persistent and alway civil, Tim Russert stood head and shoulders above most others in his profession. Even if we discount the high quality of the man in his personal life, the loss of Tim Russert in the public arena is a terrible blow to the cause of an informed public.

Sunday morning will never be the same and we are the poorer.
