Search for "Pope gives Nazi salute"

Forget revisionists. Search web for "Pope and cardinals give Nazi salute." You will find many photos of Catholic high officials with Hitler, saluting. The SS were all Catholics like Hitler, Goebbels, Himmler, Eichmann, Dr Mengele, etc.The Vatican must have received trillions of dollars in tithes from Catholic Nazis. It was the most capitalist regime. It even sold dental gold from victims, and their hair, fat and ashes. Hiding truth and lying makes it possible for these crimes to happen again.

Ridiculous Argument

Pius XII said plenty...he said enough for the Nazis to plot his assasination. Pius XII was too busy saving Jewish lives (est. 800,000) to make any more pointless statements than he had too.

The arguement here seems to be this... if Pius XII gave a formulaic and ultra specific speech stating that the killing millions of God's creatures was evil then the Nazis would say, "Oh yeah!! We're gonna stop right now."

Even if the Nazis were a Catholic group (which it obvioulsy was not) it would be ridiculous to believe this.

Pope Pius a scapegoat

Many Catholics did not speak out during the holocaust. Many Catholics were anti-semitic back then, but many were also afraid. The punishment for helping a Jew was often death. Many Catholics did risk their lives to help them. Why do you think 75% of the Jews in the Roman Catholic heartland of Italy, were spared? It sure wasn't because of Mussolini. When the Vatican did speak out against Nazism, more Jews died, so it helped hundreds of thousands behind the scenes. How many Jews did the governments of Canada or the United States welcome in their countries when they were fleeing nazism?

Pius is being made a scapegoat by Jewish groups ( not ordinary jews) who want to find someone to blame for the anti-semitism of their neighbours.

pius was wrong

Pius shouod have condemned the germans for killing jews. He represents God and had jesus been on the earth he would have told Hitler in person.

We as men and Christians should not fear death because God has promised us life. Think of the jews who died during the Holocaust they did not die alone there was in fact a group of christian who bore a purple flower alongside the jews because they outright refused Hitlers evil ways and they themselves "fear God rather than man"

I will not say their name but research this yourself and see who these "lovers of God" were. So many Jews were killed and it is sad the Vatican did not make a stand and such a horrible time. Silence is like watching a woman get raped and then doing nothing but after the event helping her get on her feet.

Pius XII was admired by top Jewish leaders who knew better

The Myth of Hitler's Pope: How Pope Pius XII Rescued Jews from the Nazis is a book written by American historian Rabbi David G. Dalin and published in 2005.

Rabbi Dalin first documents how popes through history have defended the Jews, and refuted attacks like the blood libel.

Then he gets to the main part of the book: defending the reputation of the late Pope Pius XII by presenting extensive documentation culled from Church and State archives throughout Europe. Rabbi Dalin suggests that Yad Vashem should honor Pope Pius XII as a "Righteous Gentile", and documents that Pius was praised by all the leading Jews of his day for his role in saving more Jews than Schindler. Pius's admirers included Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog of Israel, Israeli Prime Ministers Golda Meir and Moshe Sharett, and Israel's first president Chaim Weizmann.

Dalin writes:

"anti-papal polemics of ex-seminarians like Garry Wills and John Cornwell (author of Hitler's Pope), of ex-priests like James Carroll, and or other lapsed or angry liberal Catholics exploit the tragedy of the Jewish people during the Holocaust to foster their own political agenda of forcing changes on the Catholic Church today."

Pope Pius XII

Pope Pius XII did nothing wrong before or during World War II; lay off the Vatican and Pius XII

It's What Pius did after the War

Ranking clergy laundered Nazi loot and hid war criminals at the Vatican right under Pius' nose? The Vatican needs to clear this mess up first or face continued intense criticism, they need to attend to the decade long lawsuit by Holocaust survivors, Alperin v. Vatican Bank. They need to show some leadership.

Pius the XII

The Catholic Leadership continues to shoot themselves in the foot. And with each shot an informed laity places another spike in the burial coffin of dying good-ole-boy ecclesial club.
