Confusion worse confounded

It seems samilar crisis happening in other industry. You can tell how angry Chinese common people are about it. It is really sad when we heared about these kind of news abroad. Chinese people are not suprised about it but feel sorry for the victim. Who is the next? Saving face can not last forever.Culture difference and saving face are really the big execuses and not responsible at all.

China wake up, nothing can be perfect, but at least there is the bottom line for moral. Acting like this will not benefit for the next generation. Making any efforts to save face is so negtive.

We really wish the situation is getting better.

Well this world sucks .

And everytime a crisis happens everyone's fingers point in different directions to place blame on everyone but themselves. It happened here on Wallstreet and now in China with powdered milk. maybe there is a conspiracy in both cases, its(always) hard to see though the blame games to get to the truth. But I suppose thats intentional too. Can we as humans get something right?

tainted products

the whole problem is in the greed of business men all over the world who put profits before their country. Here in North Carolina the grandfathers and fathers who built fortunes and strong prosperous business on the backs of the people from the 20's through the 70's in furniture, clothing, fabrics and hosiery put their money back into the country. When the internet came along and made contact with the whole world easier the sons of those men found they could exploit cheap labor and bypass the unions. They inherited the businesses sold the machines and know how to countries like China and India and headed for the Bahamas to spend their fathers and grandfathers fortunes. Now they import the junk back here and sell it at the same prices they would have gotten for union made goods. In the auto industry GM. Ford And Chrysler sat on their ass and made sorry cars during the late 70,s and 80's and people found that the cheap cars being unloaded over here were better cars. The grandchildren sold our industrial strength and jobs out. These are the same ones now demanding more from the government in bailouts.I am 71 years old and these young bastards know that I am right and we got one now educated at Harvard with money provided by Arabs that will probably be your next president. He is lying to you but you can not see it because of the protection being given to him by the Liberal media.

somebody is telling lies

this guy"Expat In Beijing of XX" is telling lies, if this guy comes abroad and just live in china in 10 months, he will definitely not use this brand, because this brand is cheap bargain, just local not rich people will choose this, so this guy will not buy this , and hospital provide free examination for all the baby, they don't have to wait that long, and the company will be shut down for investigation.

This happen all over

This kind of matters happens all over the world, not only in china, US wants to sell beef to korea but be protested by citizen there, Japan sold pisonous rice to china, you can't tell who is the last victim.

tainted milk

This sad event reminds me of the Chernobyl's disaster in April 1986. At that time I was pregnant of my second daughter, in Northern Germany. News were scary and details were scarce. As a newcomer expat, I didn't quite understand the language nor the cultural codes. Women and children were not allowed to leave their homes, local produce vanished from the markets, bread made in Northern Europe simply disappeared from the shelves. In grocery stores, along with the price tags, customers were informed of the radiation level of each product. Many health providers suggested abortions in early pregnancies... Waiting rooms in hospitals and clinics were jammed with local people as well as legal and illegal immigrants.

To this day, we don't really know the full consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. We might, on a global level... but we will never know what the consequences and pain were inflicted within the walls of a family household.

How to lower the price

Take a low quality product and juice it up but sell it cheaply has been a business practice since the dawn of business. Industry is accussed of outsourcing jobs. Maybe we customers are guilty of wanting it at the lowest price. Seems like the Chinese are having the same problem.

really?

The farmers, these critics say, added the melamine

-> do you think that were farmers and not people between farmers and milk producers?

People behind the photo(s)

Look at the photo of the mother and father sitting in the hospital waiting room. Close your eyes, think of your own children, then look at the picture again.

Did the photog or reporter ask them how many days they have been sitting in the hospital waiting to be seen? Do we know how many times they have waited all day long, returned home, and back the next day to wait again? Has anyone asked what they are feeding their babies now?

I am an expat living in Beijing for ONLY 10 months. My toddler son is an innocent victim of consuming tainted milk and milk products. Luckily we are able to pay the exorbitant prices for imported milk. Luckily I have time to go to 4-5 grocery stores each day to find "untainted" milk. Luckily we can fly home to the US for my son's testing. Luckily we can bring back "safe" milk products from home.

The Chinese people affected are not as lucky as we are. Where do they go? Where is the support for them during this crisis? Why are banned products still lining grocery shelves? Why are test results not being made common knowledge? Will they ever trust again?

They trusted the government and china-based companies. Immediately following the earthquake in Sichuan, the largest melamine offending dairy company rushed infant milk powder to the affected areas. All the while knowing they had a maliciously tainted product. And this is not the first time this country and food manufacturers has faced this.

When will this stop? The Asian notion of "saving face" is no longer a viable excuse.

Trust me...the mother and father in this picture are not consumed by corporate interest or greed. They are EXACTLY like me...an American...wanting a safe and healthy environment to raise their children. If I was not "lucky" it could easily be my picture you see sitting in the waiting room of a Beijing hospital.

The Chinese people can not revolt or protest this type of ongoing treatment and malicious behaviour by their government and corporations for fear of persecution. Wake up China! If you want to be part of the global community, act like a global partner!! Get a conscience, and get it soon...

I have a feeling the Olympics would have proceeded...I have a feeling people would still have come to Beijing...I have a feeling China would have still won more Gold medals than any other participating country...

Look at the photo of the mother and father sitting in the hospital waiting room. Close your eyes, think of your own children, then look at the picture again.

The world is crumbling because of greed

Pet food to milk.

What is next?

The dollar, yen or what ever the currance, is much more important to the corperate interest than the quality of the product.

Somebody should be made an example to the rest of the corporations.

$ before life, whether dog, cat or human is a crime.
