A Third Rebuke to Bush on Guantánamo Bay

U.S. Supreme Court ruling is common sense has prevailed after Georges W Bush's thugery throughout the world. Dubaya is hell bent on world domination with brute force and ignorence

well innocent americans are paying very dearly for his ego mistakes.

Hence the decesion by Superem Court is welcome here and else where.

The Supreme Court

Five judges have proven that they are supreme in righteousness and justice.

The very idea of holding people for years with no recourse to trial or a lawyer or

anything else except stark torture. Martin Luther King said that when one person

is deprived of justice, we all are. I am a citizen of the United States and these

people at Gitmo and in other American war prisons are not receiving their rights

granted by God to all of his children. Give them a fair trial under our laws and if they

are found guilty, punish them to whatever extent the law allows but to hold inno-

cent people is outrageous. What is done to people that is unjust is being done in

the name of all of us and is not proper. I am proud of the five Justices and thank

them. When someone represents me, I want it to be done mercifully and with

justice, and according to our Constitution, no matter their background.

ISRAEL’S SUSTAINABLE PARASITISM ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

ISRAEL’S SUSTAINABLE PARASITISM ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

Israel and the American Diaspora notoriously donate thousands of dollars to elect corruptible American presidential and congressional officials, who then repay Israel a thousand fold from precious tax revenues; with millions of dollars worth of technologically advanced military equipment and services, and with the priceless lives of thousands of young patriots. In the case of the un-Constitutional Iraq War, Podhoretz Neo-Con Bush sacrificed over a trillion dollars and the lives of 4,000 young patriots, to sole benefit of Israel.

A Third Rebuke to Bush on Guantánamo Bay

The beginning as I remember is something like this. Mr. Bush standing up and saying He would like to tell us the reasons we have to go to war "BUT they are secret".

Then was his statement that "we don't have secret prisons overseas". A couple days later "we" transfrerred prisoners from prisons in allied countries to GITMO.

Add that up with "WE" don't torture -waterboarding OK. Except waterboarding has been considered torture since WWII. We actually prosecuted Nazi's for it

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

WE WILL BE WELCOMED AS LIBERATORS

OIL WILL PAY FOR THE WAR - Minimal cost to the taxpayers.

What Do I Believe

(1) The courts are more honest than the administration

(2) Justice -

(3) Truth - who is telling (more of) the truth

(4) Guantanmo Bay is controled by the United States -

- - - - -we are a country of laws - - we must obey those laws - - those laws are what made this country GREAT

- - - - - - Those Laws Are What Keep Us Free - - - - -

I didnt vote for Bush.. you have no idea who i voted for. Stop being an idiot. They aren't US citizens, they should not have the same rights.. Those people were in the wrong place at the wrong time, much the same way you were at the wrong place at the wrong time when you got busted in that crackhouse and had to join the military to avoid jailtime. There, how do you like it now that i've also made a baseless assumption about you? Go on home, boy.

Irony

You know I'm not an idealist, I know bad things happen and people are put in bad situations. I understand it's not a perfect world we live in and I'm even a registered Republican!.

The thing is you have to admit that it's incredibly ironic that the very things that we, as citizens, shout from the rooftops as having made our country great are the very things that we take from others.

I'm thrilled to see this finally went through. Why? Because tomorrow the Police State could declare me, you, your neighbor or your cousin a terrorist, then we would have had no rights.

Everyone keeps saying we as a country are a war. There was never a declared war and Congress exclusively has that right. The only war I see are the ones we make at home, abroad (when we're bored), and in our communities. You can fight a country, but you can't fight a religion or idea. This principle is further driven home when you realize thatn you DON'T HAVE THE MONEY!

Suspension of a right explicitly mentioned in the Constitution is a scary thought. Maybe we should quarter troops in the president's and congress' homes maybe that would make a point?

Drill down to the individual judge votes

Very important to note that four of the five members of the Catholic Gang on the Supreme Court (Roberts, Thomas, Scalia, Alito) went with the Bush government's position on this. Only the fifth (Kennedy) did not.

Why speak of the "Catholic Gang"? Certainly not in any disrespect to actual Catholic parishoners (who are mostly very good and very nice people.)

Rather, we should pay attention here, and in every case, because we do (unbelievably) have a life-tenure majority (5 out of 9) justices who are members of a single church. And not just "any" church--the one with the most top-down authoritarian hierarchy in all of Christendom, perhaps even in all of anything.

The pattern is that these guys mostly stick together against individuals and in favor something larger (like a corporation or the government) EXCEPT when Justice Kennedy occasionally departs. For EVERY decision in the foreseeable future, we need the real Catholics of America paying close attention and speaking out LOUDLY as to whether they are proud of the actions of their brethren's bloc, or not. Yes, dear Catholic folks, the rest of us are depending on you to sway your guys as to whether individuals' rights remain the focus of the Constitution.
