Talking to Terrorists: How Israel Is Negotiating with Hamas for a Gaza Cease-fire

With Egypt playing the middleman, the process allows for deniability on both sides

The only solution for Israel and Palastine

The only solution is to bind together in a unified nation with two separate states.

Old style blame pitching like I'm hearing here has not and will not work. Really, what has anyone gained in all these years. Is Israel leaving <laugh> of course not. It will never happen. Where would they go?

Palestine will have to take control of their own affairs and prove they can act like a real country instead of being lead around by their noses by the Old Hamas Leaders. Hamas has to modernize and get real about taking care of the people.

Israel does not like war... they love peace... but they will deal with what they have.

Practice what you preach

It is easy to tell others do as I say not as I do. Perhaps Kumar would call the terrorists who bomb Indian trains and cities freedom fighters. Why doesn't India set the example for Israel and give Kashmir her independence? Hypocrisy can know no bonds when it comes from people of color to whites. Of all the terrorist states only Israel is singled out for condemnation by the United Nations and the so called 3rd world nations. Start looking at reality and not your racism.

Sorry, Kumie. Israel pulled out of Gaza completely. Israel isn't occupying an inch of Gaza, except when Hamas and their ilk feel the need to shoot rockets at shopping malls and schools. When they're not busy shooting at each other.

I don't consider Israeli operations into Gaza or the West Bank to be illegal when they are conducted to prevent terrorist operations. Once the Palis begin acting like true peaceful neighbors, they'll be left alone. Look at Egypt, Syria and Jordan. No attacks from the Arabs, no attacks from Israel. Ta-da.

Fact is, no other country has the patience and persistence to deal with the existential threat that is Islamic terrorism that Israel does.

Elusion of the root cause is central to the Zionist argument.

Lewis: "What he doesn't say is that it is a Palestinian war of terror on Israeli towns, to which Israel is responding to stop the rockets of death and destruction."

No! What he doesn't say is that Israel is illegally occupying Palestinian land. That automatically gives them the right to defend however they see fit.

Terrorists to you, freedom fighters to them.

I know my countries struggle for freedom from the British. I don't have to imagine the Palestinian plight. India had a population and an area advantage for peaceful protests. Palestinians have neither. How else are they supposed to defend?

Gandhi would be spinning in his grave just by listening to the Zionist justification, let alone actions.

Palestinian terrorism is the root

Kumar says Israel being on their land justifies Hamas' terrorism. And the American media is responsible.

Lets look at the facts. The 1993 Oslo agreements gave the Palestinians under Arafat self government and control of Palestinian cities and towns. In response, the Palestinians were supposed to stop terrorism. But the Palestinians increased terrorism and Israel had to go back in and take control of security - not government rule, the same as the US would do from cross border terrorism from Canada or Mexico.

Kumar, no Palestinian terrorism, no Israeli presence in Gaza or the West Bank - as simple as that.

As for the American media, Derfner's article reports that there is a war going on over the border - like an even playing field. What he doesn't say is that it is a Palestinian war of terror on Israeli towns, to which Israel is responding to stop the rockets of death and destruction. He misses the big difference between aggression and self defense.

US media is more pro-Israel than Israeli media.

Until Israel stops its illegal occupation, you or anyone for that matter have no right or logical justification in labeling Hamas a terrorist group.

Get Israel of their land. If they still continue, then Israel will have every right to defend itself. But as of now, it is Israel that is on offense and Palestinians on defense.

Only US/Israel have labeled Hamas a terrorist group. EU considers only some tactics used by Hamas as terroristic in nature. Still its nothing compared to Israel's rampant nature.

What needs to change in America is the media, not the politicians. Those who control the media ultimately control the people.
