Competitive Enterprise Institute Protests World Car-Free Day
Life without a car? That's the goal of Tuesday's World Car-Free Day. The Euro-eco group's goal is a simple one: Once you step out of your car, throw away the keys.
To some, that's just un-American, and the Competitive Enterprise Institute is saying that out loud. It has suggested that eliminating cars would be harmful to the elderly, the poor, and the handicapped. To get a feel for the potential hardships, it urges consumers to imagine being without a car:
— When it's raining.
— When carrying several bags of groceries.
— When you've got your baby or toddler with you.
— When hobbling on crutches.
— After midnight.
— When you're in a rush to get to a train or bus station.

Missle Free Day too?
Does that apply to that twisted dwarf ,Medvedev's tank divisions that are pre positioned to cross into Poland & the Czech Republic now that "Obamugabe" has reneged on our promise to provide a deterrent vital to their proction & continued soveriegnty?
CEI Completely Misses the Point
World Car-Free Day is not an attack by "anti-car activists" to stop people from driving cars, it's an attempt to break the monopoly that cars have in life in far too many cities. An organization calling itself the "Competitive Enterprise Institute" ought to know that only having a single transportation option available leads to some really bad outcomes.
