Top 5 White House Christmas Ornaments
It's a long time before we'll be humming Bing's "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas," but people are already hanging Christmas ornaments at the White House Historical Association across the street from President Obama's house. That's the group that sells the annual White House ornament, the latest of which is about to be launched for sale.
That prompted us to ask WHHA just what the five most popular ornaments are, and it returned with the following list and a special link to the most popular, including pictures and ordering information:
1. Presidential Seal (1989), honoring the bicentennial of the presidency
2. Abraham Lincoln (1999), honoring President Lincoln
3. 200th Anniversary of the White House (2000)
4. Carriage Ride (2001), honoring President Andrew Johnson
5. First White House Christmas Tree (2008), honoring President Benjamin Harrison

Friends of the White House Christmas Ornaments
A handcrafted glass Christmas ornament depicting President Barack Obama from Friends of the White House is highly sought after by collectors and gift-givers. Dedicated to exploring historical events of the White House and its Presidents, this ornament commemorates the historic inauguration of Barack Obama on January 20, 2009. Earlier ornaments in this annual series commemorate George Washington's supervision of the construction of the White House and John Adams arrival as the first President to reside in the newly constructed White House. Each ornament is elegantly gift boxed and includes historically significant descriptive literature.
The ornaments are blown glass, silvered, individually painted and intricately decorated. Each requires 10 days to paint and decorate giving every ornament its distinctive handcrafted look.
