Healthcare crisis

AMERICA’S NATIONAL HEALTHCARE EMERGENCY!

It’s official. America and the World are now in a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. A World EPIDEMIC with potential catastrophic consequences for ALL of the American people. The first PANDEMIC in 41 years. And WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES will have to face this PANDEMIC with the 37th worst quality of healthcare in the developed World.

STAND READY AMERICA TO SEIZE CONTROL OF YOUR NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

We spend over twice as much of our GDP on healthcare as any other country in the World. And Individual American spend about ten times as much out of pocket on healthcare as any other people in the World. All because of GREED! And the PRIVATE FOR PROFIT healthcare system in America.

And while all this is going on, some members of congress seem mostly concern about how to protect the corporate PROFITS! of our GREED DRIVEN, PRIVATE FOR PROFIT NATIONAL DISGRACE. A PRIVATE FOR PROFIT DISGRACE that is in fact, totally valueless to the public health. And a detriment to national security, public safety, and the public health.

Progressive democrats and others should stand firm in their demand for a robust public option for all Americans, with all of the minimum requirements progressive democrats demanded. If congress can not pass a robust public option with at least 51 votes and all robust minimum requirements, congress should immediately move to scrap healthcare reform and demand that President Obama declare a state of NATIONAL HEALTHCARE EMERGENCY! Seizing and replacing all PRIVATE FOR PROFIT health insurance plans with the immediate implementation of National Healthcare for all Americans under the provisions of HR676 (A Single-payer National Healthcare Plan For All).

Coverage can begin immediately through our current medicare system. With immediate expansion through recruitment of displaced workers from the canceled private sector insurance industry. Funding can also begin immediately by substitution of payroll deductions for private insurance plans with payroll deductions for the national healthcare plan. This is what the vast majority of the American people want. And this is what all objective experts unanimously agree would be the best, and most cost effective for the American people and our economy.

In Mexico on average people who received medical care for A-H1N1 (Swine Flu) with in 3 days survived. People who did not receive medical care until 7 days or more died. This has been the same results in the US. But 50 million Americans don’t even have any healthcare coverage. And at least 200 million of you with insurance could not get in to see your private insurance plans doctors in 2 or 3 days, even if your life depended on it. WHICH IT DOES!

Contact congress and your representatives NOW! AND SPREAD THE WORD!

God Bless You

Over reaching

The purpose of government is to protect your rights, not to "benefit the welfare of the people." If "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" means that the government is required to provide medical care to everyone (including people who purposely have more children and not work so they can collect more welfare) then yeah, socialized healthcare is within the premise of the government. If, on the other hand, you like to work to support your family and provide the best care you can, pursue happiness (not pursue entitlement happiness), and keep more than half your paycheck, then socialized healthcare is not for you.

That government is best which governs least.

Health care

I'm not sure the new ideas on a National Health Care deal is the answer, but it can't be any worse than what we have now. I have found that believing a Republican is the worst thing I can do. The Bush Administration lied to us about everything and we are now so far in debt because of those lies, let alone the cost of trying to get out of that debt, it's pathetic. This country will either rise again, or fall? We know what we had for the last 8 years, any kind of a change can't be that much worse than we've already experienced under Bush and his Team....Oh by the say, Does anyone remember Gingrich's Contract

ON America? Who would believe a man who walked out on his wife when she is dying of cancer? What a slimball..................

Be Scared - Health Care in America is Broken and Hobbling Our Economy

When will people get it, US health care is on the verge of bankruptcy and will continue to drag the economy down until its fixed. Tell your congressman to get off payroll of the Big Pharma/Medical-Industrial Complex and work for the people in fixing our broken healthcare system. Our Constitution stands to benefit the welfare of the people, not the profits and extortion of Corporate Medicine.

The fiscally unconservatives have shown that they are more than happy to waste the country's economy and seem to be happy with the most expensive yet worst healthcare among western industrialized countries. Most Americans would be lucky to have as good healthcare as Canadians or most European countries.

We all deserve the same health care plan as congressmen give themselves (a gold plated Cadillac singlepayer plan).

FIx what we have

Quite simply, what we need is a safety net. This is best approached by fixing what we have now, not starting over from scratch. I want to see Washington fix Medicare and Medicaid and blend it all into a system that works before starting fresh.

Would you have an architect design a new bridge for you when the two previous ones he designed for you are about to fall down? Would you let a doctor operate on you when the previous procedures he performed are infected? Would you let a carpenter build you a deck if the previous two he built you were about to collapse.

What is needed is healthcare for the disabled, the chronically poor, the shiftless and those without the mental skills to care for themselves. The freedom to succeed comes part and parcel with the freedom to fail. It's sad, but it's true. I am not so cold as to deny them care, but the present system of "just go to the emergency room" care is working against us from several angles. But what level of care? Fix what we have and make sure those who need it can get care.

Instead of Dems and the GOP trying to scare us into accepting or denouncing a new plan, we need to ask what and why. We need them to fix the safety net before they build a new system.

What we do not need to do is deny our neighbors, like Canada, the ability to come to the US for needed procedures. If we think of them as illegal aliens, then everyone will see the need to care for them.

OK, sarcasm aside. I have a doctor I like. Not as good as my longtime family doctor so far, but he had to retire as he was paying money to work as a GP. I will go to my doctor. I will gladly pay for it.

Great video!

1) Health care is ALREADY rationed. Just try to get an appointment with a doctor without waiting weeks. If you're lucky!

2) We ALREADY have a socialized medical program, it's call MEDICARE...and it treats those who need care the most.

3) The money the insurance industry make in profits do NOTHING to further the quality of health care in this country; further, they drain money that individuals could use to improve their health on their own.

4) Virtually every country with a SOCIALIZED system of medical care have better medical statistics than the US.

5) As for employers droppping employee insurance -- that could be solved with a few tweaks of the tax code, or taken into account with whatever public option is established.

The time has come for public health care in America. A healthier country is a STRONGER country!

Forgetting about the facts is what got us in this mess...

The Congressional Budget Committee came out this week saying it would cost $1 trillion to pay for nationally funded healthcare for 16 million people in the next 10 years... The problem being there are over 50 million without insurance right now, making the real number over $3 trillion. Factor in the fact that a government run plan will ultimately force private/normal insurance rates to skyrockit. This will force more and more people to the government plan (significantly inflating the costs of running the program). Add to that the fact that this plan is assuming that all, if not most, of the people in question are "standard risks" (an insurance term for healthy). This is simply not the case. A shame this video doesn't address any of these crucial facts... Wouldn't that be considered "fear mongering"? The post above is also right about Canadian system, which by the way is now opening itself back up to the private sector. Or look at France, where most of their population still has private subsidiary insurance because their national plan simply can't hack it.

US Healthdare

I believe what was said to be very true."The American people know what's really scary-letting the insurance industry control our health care," McMahon says.

the GOP is practically writing their own horror film. What they are really afraid of is that competition will eat into the profits of their buddies in the insurance

industry," says Tom McMahon

What?

WOW! The full court press is on. Did the US News corporation really embed that juvenile video in its web page without really discussing the issues that the Republican's are bringing up? Is the US News corporation just another propaganda machine like the Huffington Post, Daily Kos, KosTV, FiredogLake, and on and on and on it goes.....it sure looks like it.

SHAME ON YOU!

Why not discuss the statements based on the merit of the terms used. What did they say? Just what is the additional "bureaucracy" and what is being "taken over" in medicine if the US govt who creates and then enforces ALL of the rules for reimbursement of services rendered by hospitals and doctors? If the US govt makes the rules and everyone else has to abide by them and they decide to put 100,000 employees of US Health care employers out of work through the creation of a new health insurance program, which then seeks to tax the population for the said services, and in its place hire 1000,000 NEW US govt employees for a NEW US Health care service...then that would be a takeover...and additional bureaucracy.

Can the US News report the NEWS!

AFTER THIS ELECTION, AND THE WAY THE MEDIA IS MANIPULATING THE NEWS, AND IS PRODUCING PROPAGANDA TO SUPPORT THE DEMOCRATS, I CAN TRULY STATE THAT I HATE THE UNITED STATES, THE DEMOCRATS AND THE REPUBLICANS....TO DEATH! IF YOU THINK THE MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION IS BLIND TO BLATANT MANIPULATION OF INFORMATION THEN I HOPE YOU DIE.
