Bipartisan Group of Governors Announce Support of Obama's Stimulus

Governor of Louisiana, restated some the earlier concerns about the stimulus bill that have already beeen discussed, since the second day Obama was in office. What I dont understand is why they are playing his comments up, when they aren't new! In addition, his comments offered no real solutions to add to, or to supplement the bill. I personally think he was given so much press today because he is a republican. The plan has to enlarge government, because part of the issue was the lack of oversight and control by the government on the contracting behavior of the banks, brokers, and agents who spun the housing market out of control. Although this wasnt the only issue that created the demise of the system. But, I strongly feel, the answer is not to decrease the the size of the gov't. In addition, the Louisiana governor failed to assert, that national leadership is necessary to guide the state to what is appropriate; being that the states did not do their job of overseering the economic behavior within their borders.

Yes we should support this bailout, and send the money straight to cash-strapped states like California. Otherwise they might have to tighten their belts like everyone else, and change valuable programs like MediCal (paying for that octuplet lady's children).

$900 billion is a small price for me to pay for California to continue to support the glorious semi-socialist society it has become. More for ACORN, too - they demonstrated a remarkable skill in signing up "voters" for Obama (voters like the Dallas Cowboys starting lineup).

I just want to commend the Bipartisan group of governor's who have came in support of President Obama's stimulus plan. Although it is an excessive amount of the tax payers dollars that is being purposed. We have no choice considering the circumstances that our current economy is now enduring. We are faced with unsurmountable amount of foreclosures and an unemployment rate at its highest ever. How can the dissenting members of both parties not support a plan that will put millions to work and to stabilize our faltering economy? What happen to the compassionate conservative? Have they spoken to mainstream american and their constituents? Do they even care about about a single mom, family, fireman, city worker, policeman and a teachers who have or could possibly be faced with the loss of a job. What about implementing infrastructure projects to repair or replace dilipadated buildings and schools? In my opinion, this will have the construction market moving in full force; along with the creation of green jobs and electronic health records(IT). In addition, there should be a tremendous amount of investment and assistance for small business owners and future start ups.

Get rid of the Illegals!

The illegal aliens need to be rounded up and dumped back in Mexico. The free services these people are receiving for education, medical, housing, food, etc. need to be immediately suspended. This will lead to immediate cost savings and jobs for Americans!

America needs to focus on Borders (aggressive enforcement of our borders and immigration law), Language (Our language is English - govt financed bilingual education programs should be cancelled), and the preservation of American Culture.

Reno - sorry but unless your local taxpayers support your ideas and are willing to fund this, a lot of that needs to go bye bye. We are not thru the most severe wave of crashes and defaults by any means. I expect unemployment and rioting to be at a new height by mid summer.

Only through hard work will people survive and prosper the coming depression.

I have paid enough in taxes, tools, and handouts and support the Govt legalization, control, and taxation of prostitution.

I am a chinese, I'm very interested in if American support this stimulus. Nine hundreds billion are really a large number of money, but I don't know whether it can work availably. World's economy depends on American. Americans, tell me, do you support this stimulus?

Asking me to Support your Kids

Hey wait a minutes I thought toll roads paid for schools and the lottery? Wait I thought drug seizures paided for more cops. I thought park entrance fees paid for parks. Did I happen to say I don't have children and I'm paying for yours! Reno are you a legislature? Please stop with the smoke and mirrors. Were is all the money that we have collected for the toll roads and the lottery. To get from Orland FL to Mimai it cost $20 bucks. Oh and by the way they are asking for more money for road construction. Hey please write me a check for a 1000 bucks since you don't mind giving your money away! The Chicago sky way has one toll 3.00 bucks when you hit IN 1000 ft down the road it's another 65 cents. Hey there is another article on this website about POT Heads. If your not a user you could have fooled me!

Think of the least among you.

Think of the children whose art, music and physical education classes won't be cut. Think of the field trips to their state capitols for civic lessons.All of these things continue confidence.

Think of the cops that won't be laid-off. Think of the firemen(women), EMTs, and library personnel that will keep their jobs. All of this breeds confidence, not to mention the effects on each of those workers families.

Think of the Federal Parks that will remain open, not to mention the state and local parks, swimming pools, t-ball leagues and cheerleading teams that will survive.

All of these entities and people improve your children's lives along with your own. They are worth saving. Don't be foolish and diminish them

Free Money

This is Bill Clinton politics at its best - I'm not responsible, what governor wouldn't take the free Fed money, it comes with no payback schedule, no interest, and virtually no strings attached. And of course doesn't require the governors to straighten out their own states financial mess/

Good Times Are Here Again

Why sure they support the Obama plan and why wouldn't they? The spend money like a drunken sailor with a hooker!W ere did all that money go from property taes and sales taxes? Why they spent it! They spent it on bigger and bigger state programs. Remember that saying save for a rainy day well that doesn't apply to the Federal or State goverments and you know why? Because they have us the poor working slob. These are the same people that preach to us that we need to save more and Americans are the poorest savers in the world. Well that could be because were getting taxed out the A! No I don't care about what foreign countries are taxing either. If I wanted to know I would live there but I live in American and no I don't want to be part of the gobal community of liberals either. They are violating the principles that the founding father based this country on. NO TAXATION WITH OUT REPRESENTATION. Don't give me that crap that we can vote! That's all to make people think that they have choice when in reality they have no choice. That's why there's only two parties. The same inbreeding takes place in both parties.

But let's get back to the states these people can't even balance their own check books let alone a state budget. Why California the state with all those movie stars and prono stars and the gathering place of the liberals. Could it be they aren't paying their taxes! Maybe we need to send a speical IRS SWAT team for Demoractic Dead Beats! Is there a financial crises in the land of Sodom and Glomar. Flordia those folks can't vote let alone budget themsleves. I lived in Flordia and anyone who says they didn't see this coming is a liar. The state didn't intervene when housing prices kept going up becuase they wanted their tax money. The states should have intervened a long time ago. Not one tear for the states. They need to cut thier budgets just like regular Americans. But that's the point isn't it. The rules don't apply to the goverments. The states flaunt breaking federal laws. Calif Drug usage for medication my A and illegal immgration sanctuary. Why don't they try and collect some taxes from those folks now! If they want moeny let's crack down on the states, no money until you compile with federal law. Answer is no!
