Stumulus Payments to couples

Does the stumulus tax refund apply to retired couples too, even though they are not working?

0% Capital Gains -Jump Start the Economy

The fastest way to give the economy a jump start and to get the stock market going . . .

Remove the capital gains tax from individuals for 2008, 2009 and 2010. These gains could be applied to start new businesses and put money back into the economy.

And, for those who get back into the stock market and who stay in it for a few years should receive a 0% tax on capital gains.

New Housing Credit

Can't express it any better than the others!

I think it is an injustice to those who bought a home in 2008 that they must pay the New housing credit back while those who buy in 2009 will not have to repay as proposed in the stimulus bill. The 2009 buyers will not only not have to pay back the credit, they will buy into a lower priced market than those who stepped up in 2008.

It's on Whitehouse.gov under "Tax".

Elimination of Capital Gains Taxes for small business

Reduction in corporate tax

These are plain as day on the agenda. You would think that the Republicans would ask they be put into the bill.

Where are these in the bill? Nowhere to be seen.

Why are these specific items missing? As an owner of small businesses, I am more inclined to hire people and make investments with these changes to the tax code. It seems absurd they are not in the current bill.

TAX Cuts for Seniors

What happened to the $300 that was supposed to be included in the Stimulas package for seniors? It appears that unless changes on made in the Senate Bill and then reconcillation of HR1 - house bill.....that seniors will not recieve any tax benefits.

tax cut for retired middle class

Obama promised tax cuts for the middle class, so where is it. Certainly not in this stimulus bill. My retirement income is about 65,000 per year. I have no wage income. Where I live, my income is barely enough to make ends meet. I drive a 15 year old car because I have no money to buy a new one, not even a cheap Kia. So where is my tax cut. Tell Obama to keep his promise. i voted for him. He is better than bush but still falls far short of what I hoped for.
