Obama's Faith Leaders: What Do You Think?

I think he's got his bases covered.

It looks like he's running for re-election on the how-not-to-piss-off the religious people before the next election ticket. We could also call it the, if I humor the religious people, maybe they'll leave me alone while I'm in office. Heck, maybe they'll leave me alone when I'm running for re-election. I'm only surprised that he didn't include agnostics and atheists. I think covering the "maybe I believe in God" people and the "sure as hell don't believe in god" folks would reallly cover all the bases. Then again he might have to include, believers in bigfoot and extra-terrestials.

Look at the combination, you have a Jew, several Muslims, a Catholic, evangelicals, Methodists, a woman, etc.

In a corporate structure you've got your nice religious, and ethnic blend, showing your not discriminating. In presidential terms, your covering your bases, so that "they" all think that you're listening to them and care about their opinions. Whether he cares or not, is anyone's debate.

Maybe,he'll even convince the religious leaders they should get their followers to do more charitable works. This way the religious groups take their share in trying to cover the new health care costs!

If this wasn't an act of appeasing everyone, I'd say it was laughable. Sometimes, you just have to have your own convictions and live with them. You might not be able to please everyone.

Shame on you for claiming that prolifers are only prolife to make money. The prolife stance is about conviction. Too many people today say you can do whatever you want if you think it's ok and if it makes life easier for you. People who have abortions because it's inconvenient are showing a lack of repsonsibility, which is a major problem in our country. So if it's ok to abort a baby (not talking about taking the morning after pill) because of economic reasons, does that mean it's ok to kill someone because of economic reasons? Like if they take your job? Isn't that about the same thing? Maybe that's why there's been so many killings in offices. And abortion is the reason why so many mothers have thrown their babies in trashcans or dumpsters after the baby is born. In their eyes, it's probably the same as having an abortion just before the baby is born. Abortion devalues human life.

As for Obama, he just uses these "religious" leaders to accomplish his liberal agenda.

Obama And Faith

As a true American I appreciate the faith in Christ as foundation stsone of life of Obama.The faith would lead him to

conclude many of the tricky situation whcih the country faces.

It is very essential that American people should have a good health and death policy of life.First fifty years of human life should be healthy.The next fifty years is the decline of health leading to death.This second period of decline one should have good health care at cheaper rate so that one could face death grafefully.I appreciate his promise of giving good health care to all who are poor and weak.Obama's faith is reflection of Sermon on the Mount.

Being Used Like...

Obama is using the faith leaders to advance his political agenda & to sell his policies to the faith community.

These liberal faith leaders are using Obama to advance their personal power agendas to gain worldly prestige & influence.

Do any of these faith leaders have a passion for protecting unborn lives from the torture of abortion? If so, they have compromised their values in supporting the Obama administration & anti-biblical policies.

Scripture-writers say "nobody can understand the mind of God." This is cute, because God is said to be immaterial, without a body, so how could he have a mind or thoughts? Another odd thing about religion is that it says mythic God has a Plan that will turn out BEST for everyone, even if disease kills a loved one, or a tornado blows away a whole trailer park. God is said to decide when each person is born & dies. So why do people build places of worship, to pray to God TO MAKE CHANGES IN HIS PLAN? One man prays for a better job. Down the pew, another prays the first will be fired so the job goes to him. A woman prays her husband will stop running around. Up front, the man's mistress prays he'll divorce the wife. At sports events, both teams pray to win--not by skill but by divine intervention. If Schaefer thinks he can understand the mind of God, it's a vacant idea because there is no god, hell, satan, christ, soul, sin, etc, They're all words, but they represent fictional characters in the best-selling collection of sewn-together pages ever invented.

Pathetic theocracy

Our founding fathers are turning over in their graves. It's a shame how politians have used religion since the 1950's for political gain. Where did separation of church and state go? When did we unofficially become a theocracy? Why does it matter if a politician believe a certain deity exists, prays to a rock, or nothing at all......I'd rather vote on the person's stand on issues and the like. Religion has no place in politics....our founding fathers knew it.......and the modern american is too naive to realize they are being led like sheep.

Obama's Slanted Guidance

Since nobody knows anything about this guy, one can only form opinions of what he believes by who he surrounds himself with. I took a look at his religious board and find nothing but liberals and progressives. Nobody on that board brings any history of any church to the table. These people can only advise on what they believe and not what is known to be true. Look at his Catholic rep! Would it not be better to have a priest instead of a law professor? Nothing good can come from this board when there is no historical dogma represented just people who think they know religion as they learned it. All these representatives on this board have done nothing but bastardize their own faith! What does that say about POTUS?
