Obama's Most Important Faith Moments: What Do You Think?

Posted April 22, 2009

From expanding the White House's faith-based office to opening his rallies with prayer, Barack Obama has embraced faith in a more visible way than any other president in recent memory. What do you think are the most important "faith moments" in the first 100 days of Obama's presidency?

Trusting in the SOVEREIGNTY of the Heavenly Father

Does this article sicken me? Yes. Do I think that our current President is a Christian? No. I have been convicted to pray for him and his family. Someone can be a million steps away from God, but it is only one step back to Him. Obama will one day answer to his Creator for his actions and be judged accordingly. I believe he is very prideful and arrogant. Did anyone else notice that the "Top Ten" were all about Obama and what he has done? I believe that everything he does is out of political convenience, not based on a solid faith. Also, everything he does is out in public so it will be seen by the world. I have the utmost respect for George W. Bush because I believe he stood firm in his convictions and had a deep-rooted faith and reverence for God. He didn't need to "show the world". He understood it wasn't about him, it is all about God.

Having said all that, I am equally sickened by most of the other comments posted on here. If someone claims to be a Christian and says things like, "God has a special place in hell for him" and far worse comments, they should SERIOUSLY reevaluate their own personal walk with the Lord. If you are a parent, would you say things like that if your child goes the wrong way or is extremely difficult? I hope not. The Lord doesn't have an iron fist waiting for us to screw up so He can condemn us. He is our FATHER, He is equal parts love and discipline. Check your view of God if you feel He would approve of some of the things being said.

Is it getting harder and harder to be a Christian in today's society? Yes, but we were never promised an easy life. So many things are happening around the world right now and I truly believe we are in the end-times. Personally, that excites me because I know how the Book ends...I've read the last chapter! But in the same breathe it ignites a sense of urgency for those who do not know the Lord (which includes Obama) AND luke-warm Christians who have become complacent and have no real relationship with our Heavenly Father. Also, the churches that are just "tickling the ears" of the congregation and not preaching ALL of God's Word...that is the most dangerous of all.

Remember, it is not our place to judge. Sin is sin in the eyes of God. We need to have a FIRM foundation in our faith in Jesus Christ because it will be tested harder and harder in the days to come.

I will continue to pray for this country and our leaders that their hearts will be softened and they will come to know the Lord. All the power they have has been given to them by God. I will also place my trust in the sovereignty of our Creator! May God bless everyone who reads this!

Obama's Faith and practice

Every appearance that our president projects is of a man who uses "faith" or "religion"

to advance his career and agenda. It is very significant that he would have nothing to do with observing the Christian National Day of Prayer. In the past, our presidents have held a Prayer Breakfast, but not Obama. However, he was right there to celebrate Ramadan with the nation;s Muslims. It is increasingly difficult to see this man as a Christian, which he claims to be.

Obama's Faith

The only time he uses the Christian faith is when it helps his agenda. They only religion I have seen him have any respect for is Islam. I believe at heart he is closer to an atheist like his mother.
