One Tiny Step

No wonder the GOP is spinning their wheels, they seem to be the last ones to get it. We seem to have taken the first step, albeit a small one to put the wheels back on the wagon.Hopefully we are on the road to taking America back where it once belonged, for the people and of the people. No longer will we vote into office incompetents and blowhards, neither Gingrich or Palin will have much of a chance in 2012, hopefully we will still keep voting with our heads and not our hearts. It's such a pleasure to watch someone at the helm who seems to have some idea what he's doing! It's not going to happen at once but we've made a start, so come on GOP shock us and start doing whats right for the country instead of the answerless obstructionism you're exhibiting! It might just change the face of your party and start casting you in a favorable light!

Baby Boomers Suck

The trend of rising degeneracy in governance (i.e. Congress) has been with us for the past two decades. It will get worse and then better.

The Baby Boomers are simply unfit to lead this nation. The kids of May Berry and "Leave it Beaver" went through Vietnam and then Watergate (the most damaging political incident in American history). Talk about overlode. Its sad, but they are devoid of civic responsibility, pragmatism, honesty, and selflessness. In short, they are unfit to rule the nation.. Baby Boomers are categorically corrupt and/or misguided and it shows in the conduct of our Congress.

The next time you vote, vote for young or the very elderly but never in between. The "Greatest Generation" may have left the worst one.

This whole thing is just stupid

The reality is that America has been defrauded by all it's politicians. On either side of the equation, the American people are being over taxed and incompetently herded around by crooks and charlatans.

What we really need is to washout the whole system. Stop borrowing against the future and stop allowing all the waste that goes with Government.

Meanwhile, others are trying to build a new majority, but their messages have yet to catch on. The GOP's appeal since Ronald Reagan made conservatism the dominant ideology has been based on four themes: cutting taxes, slowing the growth of government, preserving "family values," and strengthening national defense. But in recent years, many Republicans have felt their party going astray, especially on the issues of limiting government, restraining spending, and making common-sense decisions about using force and enhancing national security.

here's the main thing palin does that the old party heads don't understand.

governor palin takes her sworn duties as governor seriously and they come first. long term commitments are probably hard for her to make.

governor palin is a real, honest to god human being who has the strength of character to be herself and not try to pretend to be anybody else. she tells the truth as she sees it, and we can take it or leave it. her intelligence, honesty, openness, common sense approach to problems, and obvious love of country and it's people, plus her courage to tackle anything that comes up attracts people like iron to a magnet. personally, i will follow the woman anywhere, and i think a majority of people in this country see her the same way i do.

i'm also encouraged in my beliefs about her by the people who profess hate and distrust of her.

There is nothing wrong with Sarah Palin,

but there is EVERYTHING wrong with the policies she would promote in office.

So, wake up, libs. You (we) had better start identifying Palin's actual policy views and refuting THEM one by one, and EVERY DAY.

The rest of the GOP is lost in a fog, and the bubbas of America are going to go into "Draft Sarah" mode. There are a lot (LOT) of bubbas out there.

So, no "trashing" Sarah. Letterman, for instance, should have been shot for the traction he just gave her with a so-called "joke"----FOR NOTHING. Instead, become a wonk of Sarah's policies and get your head together on opposing THEM.

2012 is nearer than you think.

Although the poll the writer indicates is interesting, results to a different poll released yesterday (or perhaps the day before) could be even more interesting. It revealed that 41% of the nation identified themsleves as conservative and only 22% as liberal.

At a time when the liberal wing of Dem Party has control of government this could be dangerous proposition long-term. This danger will probably not manifest in the 2010 elections, since such a higher number of GOP office holders are retiring next year, particularly in the Senate. However, if the Democrats misinterpret the probable 2010 results as a mandate for their ideology, a GOP backlash and landslide may occur in 2012. This nation didn't all of sudden embrace liberal/socialist policies last year, just a slight change in direction

Ronald Reagan would be ashamed of his party today!!

I used to consider my self conservative, my father was a hard-core republican and most of my family were what you would consider right leaning. I grew up in Philadelphia and I can still remember my grandparents talking the Republican Party when I was a child. The last eight years showed us that the republicans have gone too far. I did not appreciate the insinuation from the far right that if I did not believe in everything that they believed in then I was unpatriotic. I left the Republican Party for the democrats. Their belief system appears to be closer to mine now than the rights and even my father voted democrat for the first time in my lifetime. He voted for Obama. I have a sister who has turned to the Libertarian Party. The base of the Republican Party have become extremists and I want no part of that anymore.

Ronald Reagan said, "We should emphasize the things that unite us and make these the only ‘litmus test’ of what constitutes a Republican: our belief in restraining government spending, pro-growth policies, tax reduction, sound national defense, and maximum individual liberty. As to the other issues that draw on the deep springs of morality and emotion, let us decide that we can disagree among ourselves as Republicans and tolerate the disagreement." Can you imagine Palin/Gingrich/Cheney/Limbaugh saying anything like that? No.

Liberal midset

Here it is, the lib mindset. OH wait-what? Me pay? oh nonononono, it's the other guy that's supposed to pay-not me. Oh wait, what? Gitmo detainees in my yard? Oh NONONONO, it's the other guy that's supposed to put up with them. Look in the mirror jerks, and see who you really are. Hypocrites bent on feeling all warm and fuzzy about yourselves til reality actually sets in-you make me sick.

Extremists

So, let me get this straight. According to the Left extremists are those that believe in the Christian God, believe in the nuclear family, Believe that when you're dumb enough to get knocked up in this age of available contraceptives you should maybe pay for your own lousy abortion, believe that you should be compensated for a job well done and not compensated for no job at all, believe that American taxes should go to benefit Americans and not illegals etc.etc.. Well real good luck with your beliefs up and coming generation-have a ball with that.
