fundamental human right

Do I ve the right to marry three wives if I so desire?is it not my human right!do I ve the right to take my life if I so desire?do I ve the right to eat whatsoever I desire even if harmful to me?Do I ve the right to spank my child if know it will be good for me and my family-its not hurting any one,is it?If the answer to the above is NO under the US constitution, why do the homosexuals feel deprived of their fundamental human right!

Choice or not? Depends on who you ask.

I believe some have a choice and some do not. I've worked very closely with the gay community and have seen all kinds of stuff. I've met those that were straight then turned gay. Gay then turned straight. I've also seen those that are just plain nymphomaniac's and will screw anything that walks. So you tell me what the truth is, because I think sexual truth can be very subjective depending on whom you ask. I think many factors play into these choices, it depends on who you ask.

UMMMM!

Just curious how may of you folks woke up one ,morning at the age of 12 and said "I finially decided I'm going to be ______" Fill in the blank. It's not choice. Either was your IQ. Your sexual identity is part of who you are and people who tell you that part of your identity is bad or sinful will be aruond to the end of time. Progress has been made, will continue to be made and the day will come when a child will have no fear in saying "these are my Dads".

gay rights

I think gays or anybody should enjoy their full rights, but

there is a limit. One of the statements of our constution reads "in God we trust" but by the asking of gay people of being allowed to marry is saying the opposite. We as a christian country follow a constitution based on christian principles. This constitution was devised to promote the basic rights of all of us, as a whole. I mean the rights of all whites, blacks, any race, poor people, men, women, any sex. If you are a lesbian, your rights as a woman are protected under our constitution; the same goes for you gay man. Please don't use the Bible to validate your claims, because it is very clear on this matter (1Chor.6:9; Gen.1:28; Gen.19:4,5,24,25). What's going to happen tomorrow when somebody asks to marry his sister, his daughter, his mother?.Or he wants to have ten wives and claim that he is entitled to it, because he can afforded and is not hurting anybody. Do we as a society should grant this people their claim?.Please all of us are entitled to realize our dreams. We all have freedom of choice and can do right or the wrong but let's be conscious.

Gays

If I was doing some guy in the fanny I wouldn't dress up like a clown and march down the street. By the way, what is it like to have a "cheesedick."

Homosexuality is not a choice. That assertion is a slap in the face to many gays and lesbians who struggled and fought with themselves about their sexuality. As a teenager I tried to be straight. I tortured myself for years until I finally let go and accepted myself for who I am.

If you took every word from the Bible as the word of God and followed it to a T, you would be living a very torturous and conflicted life. The Bible is not the unadulterated word of God. The Old Testament was comprised of the teachings of three different kingdoms of Israel, two of which existed at the same time. The New Testament was written by several different men. After that it had huge swaths edited out at the whims of men in power of the church. No wonder it is so contradictory. By the way in all the words in the Bible attributed to Jesus not one of the condemns homosexuality.Could it be possible that some hateful minded men who had the opportunity to form the Bible to their, NOT GOD"S, beliefs took advantage of that situation? Also one of the Ten Commandments is 'Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy'. Well I'm sorry to bear this bad news to the majority of Christians but you break a commandment, unrepentantly, on a weekly basis. The Sabbath is Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. If something like that can be changed on a whim in the church why not its views on homosexuality? Churches and governments have in the past ignored suspect passages in the bible that support slavery, subjugation of women, and countless others that are opposed to human rights. Why not ignore the few passages against homosexuality? It would barely add to the smorgasbord of dismissed teachings in the bible. Or you could just cut them out like the church did in so many other cases?

Dont impose your selfish will on California

Look here gay community, as of now gay marriage is illegal!

and guess what you participated in the voting process that you are now trying to overturn because you are not happy with the result. You shouldn't have voted, you should have have protested to take it off the ballot instead of wasting your time sponsering

the "vote no on 8" campaigne. No one is forcing you to live in california, obviously California doesn't want you and your traffic jam protests! There are plenty of other states in America

who accept gay marriage. Move out of the state and leave California

as it is!!

to the civil union post

I am against Gay marriage but it makes sense for the Civil Unions. I dont know how the state got mixed up with this Marriage thing in the first place besides to make a little more money. but I dont want little kids being taught that Gay couples is the norm. because its not and my kids arent going to grow up to be gay because Im going to support them and teach them morals that are approved by the God.

I do agree though

Seperate State and Religion and have the churches marry and the state unite....

The fight over Gay Marriage is over - that's a laugh.

It only takes 700,000 signatures to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot in California. That virtually assures it will NEVER be over. That best you can do is win until the next election.

Why not CIVIL UNIONS for ALL???

I am saddened by the bigotry and ignorance on the part of all who would deny loving partners of any sex equal rights under the law.

I get so tired of hearing of the "sanctity of marriage". I'm not even going to go into the hypocrisy of this statement.

However, I think the problem could be easily solved if states would get out of the "marriage" business entirely. Court houses should issue CIVIL UNION certificates for any couple, which would cover all the legal rights and responsibilities. If a couple wishes to have their union "sanctified" by God, then they can have a ceremony in a church. Churches would remain free to discriminate as they see fit.
