Wake up!

Unions are good. Wake up They created the middle class that Republicans have destroyed.

People against unions are in denial as to just what has happened to US workers since Reagan.

Murtha re-election

It is sad that so many of the people in that area of PA think it is ok to take money from else ware in the country and have it spent in the heavily unionized (overpaid) area of PA. Murtha is an embarrassment to me as a lifelong PA resident, vet and father of a Marine. Shame on you narrow minded western Pa people who just can't seem to get out of the past and retire a guy whose only redeeming value is that he can bring home other peoples money to your area. That is the main problem with the country right now is that people are spending too much of other peoples money. Also, Murtha has yet to apologize to the “cold blooded killers” that he convicted on TV all by himself. He is a disgrace and so are the money grubbers that have reelected him.

murtha re-election

To send an ignoramous like Murtha back to Congress, after he offende (maybe), a large portion of his voting public, speaks volumes about our American voters understanding of what is important. Murtha is a thug with a license, seniority. Limitrd terms must prevail. But how?

What were they thinking?

People in Pennsylvania are now not only racists and rednecks, they are also extremly ignorant. When he talks about his constituents like he did and calls marines cold blooded killers (who were later exonerated with no apology from murtha)this is not a gaffe this is what he truly beleives. Why would he help the local economy when he has such disdain for his people? This is the type of people we do not need in a political office. This guy is not good for the country PERIOD.

So?

Anyone who thinks Murtha's comment wasn't the absolute truth about Western PA, hasn't lived here. It seems that the people most offended by it were people looking to oust him anyway, or people from around the country offended on our behalf.

I am an independant, white, born-and-raised Pittsburgher and I can tell you that the only thing Murtha's opponent ran in TV ads that I ever saw, was Murtha's comments played over with ominous music. Not once did he tell us anything about what he wanted to do, or had done in office. Murta's ads reminded us of the good he's done, and what good he plans to continue doing.

One unseemly comment that I have made many times myself about MY HOME AREA is not enough to disqualify someone. Racism exists here in troves...and to fix a problem you first have to be aware that it exists. Murta got my vote, and frankly he seems to have a better grip on "us" than all the outsiders who would rather we elect liars who tell us we're perfect and special in every way when we're not.

murtha's comments

How can it be called a gaffe when it's the truth? There are many, many racists in PA and other places. Sadly.

Congratulations to Mr. Murtha!!

it appears one comment is more important to you than decades of proven success by Mr. Murtha. Good luck with your inability to truly understand politics. If you compared track records, credentials, and negatives you would see that Murtha is ahead by far.

The negative comment I was referring to was stated in the previous post. I said my positive piece, and will not spend any more time educating you on the subject. I am glad you are giving Mr Murtha the respect of checking his article multiple times all the way from NV

"Its too bad that everyone wants to be so negative. Russell is not a local PA resident, has not provided any help to the area, but he has the audacity to tell us that we did not have the talent in our workforce to maintain the jobs brought to this area. I am glad to see Russell loose, because now he can stay in VA where he is from."

response to the above statement:

The negative came from Mr. Murtha and his racist comments. It appears that the citizens in the 12th district will allow a politician to disrespectful them and called them names all for a job.

Congratulations!!!

As a member of the 12th district it is great to see that everyone was able to realize the value Murtha brings to our area. Mr Murtha has brought so many great jobs and opportunity to our area, I am proud to have him representing us once again.

racist murtha

How sad that Mr Murtha can call people he works for racist and redneck, and then is voted back into office. Maybe Murtha is right, the people of western Pennsylvan are ractist. Why are they not offended by his stupid racist remarks and voted him out??
