Edwards

I agree with "Can't Judge" - we deprive ourselves of some of the real abilities of people because we are "holier than thou"

Pigeon O' Brien

I think the person that has really brought light to this sex scandal was Pigeon O'Brien, a friend to Rielle Hunter which stated that John Edwards is still lying about the affair.

Give the president RESPECT!

There are days I can't believe what comes out of the mouth of an American. We have such a great country, made great by presidents like George Bush. He has made very very hard and difficult decisions for our great country...ALL of them motivated by love for our great country...love for its citizens...and truly working and doing the best of any HUMAN. Do we always agree? I , for one DO AGREE...but if you do not...don't you disagree at times with people whom you do respect? Why all the bad mouthing of our president...who has been a rock through times such as 9/11? Don't you think he has compassion for our troops and their families? Have you forgotten the way we all felt on 9/12/01?? Didn't we vow to never forget?? Our President has never forgotten.

I am ashamed in front of other nations of how we turn on our president. Why can't we stand together ...one nation under God...and support our country through thick and thin??? United we stand ...DIVIDED we fall!!!!!!

Can't Judge

Everyone has to contend with their demons and I assume biologically, men are more vulnerable when it comes to demons that involve variety and their sexuality. While disappointed that the Edwards hypocrisy was laid bare, I believe that at the end of the day, NO ONE can judge another. We can have opinions and feel strongly about things, but judgement? It's not ours to make.

Repentance!

I'm not religious, just a bible believer and imperfect vessel. Sin is sin, nothing big or little. Lying will take you to hell! The bible said, "We all have come short". Many are angry and feel betrayed because of John Edwards arrogance. He lied three times, because he was caught and embarrassed. Yes, he criticized others who have fallen. All of us have skeletons in our closets that we dare never to come out. But thank God for repentance. John Edwards first need to get it right with God and his family. As a public servant, humble yourself and ask forgiveness. Even if the public don't accept his forgiveness, he owes himself to get it right before God. And that's what really matters!

Edwards

Give it a break! Most Presidents and people of power have affairs, not to mention the so called average person. This man is not holding public office so except for his family, who cares what happens in or out of their marriage? McCane left his wife when she was in the hospital, Gingrich the same, Gramm the same. Plus who ever heard of a spouse lying about an affair? Self righteous hypocrits one and all.

Dubbya may or may not be involved with Rice; yet he is still the worst president in modern history. His affairs or lack of such are unimportant.

Edwards on morality??

There's no morality in him. If he would do it once, and lie about it, why wouldn't he do it again? Democrats justify it because the sinning party said he/she was sorry. Why do Americans sweep it under the rug instead of putting the parties to shame. Some don't speak against it because they're doing the same thing. But this "oh, just say you're sorry and things will be fine" attitude is destroying America. Bill Clinton did it, Jesse Jackon, John Edwards, all say their sorry. And this makes it ok? Many Republicans did the same. But the media has a responsibility to shame the offenders. This includes the wives or husbands or the offenders.

We shouldn't be silent on this matter. Voice your outrage. Don't ignore it. Petty theft, lying, fornication/adultery, premiscuity among our younger generation, and the list goes on. Accept it and it will only get worse. But stand up against the immorality, and we're religious fanatics, hypocrites, self-righteous. When we allow this immorality to be the "norm" from our politicians and religious leaders, what else can we expect from our children?

more lies by edwards

it seems the demo party is a party of lies, everything we hear does not hold water. pulos-- does not have the intellect to work in congress, she thinks she is right and america is wrong. when edwards was found out, just par for the demos. we need to produce so much oil that we do not buy anywhere else. there is insanity there, they do not like america.

The wife

The wife telling people that "he did what a lot before him has done" is bogus. First those before him were not Father of the Year and promoted family values only to be caught with his hand in the cookie jar. No excuses and no sympathy. He deserves all the attention he get for trying to fool the public and I also do not believe he told his family until the evidence was overwhelming. I think his wife making excuses is wrong no matter how she feels. Also, I always thought it was unethical to sleep with someone who works for you?

edwards-

Yep--put yourself in the family's place---

What kind of person runs around on a spouse--and then a spouse who has not just any run of the mill illness but-CANCER---

Additionally, what kind of person runs for the highest office in the USA and most folks will say the highest office in the Universe--thinking that news like this would never-ever be found out----AND-instead of touting Mr. Edwards would do any testing to determine the father of Ms. Hunter's child--why does he not just go ahead-without announcing it to the WORLD and just have a DNA test completed----Mr. Edwards just keeps on ticking --and making messes right and left--no pun intended. It would be wise for all to separate from this person and Ms. Hunter---support the families--What a bunch of low lifes-Mr. Edwards and Ms. Hunter.-Whatever, were they thinking of--Ms. Hunter also, is not innocent in all this--but a big player.

Now, what other bits and pieces do we not know about Mr. Edwards goings on is there--legal-illegal--and thinking futureistically--if he had been elected President--what other terrible things might he have done with his poor lack of judgement and insight--goodness-just gives one the chills to think of the what ifs-
