hey all, doesn't the "terminator" make a salary as the governor of the state. He should give up that money to the deficit and also think about making movies again to make money and give that to the state too. wow, what a fool, he really thinks he can do that and get away with it. with all the union backing in that state, he will have a hard time....i hope that all the people of the state rebel against him....and get him out of office.

California is EXACTLY why socialism and communism doesn't work. You can't continue to support the extreme medical and educational costs of illegal aliens, unions, and overpayed state employee monkeys, as well as tax people to death and not have the State affected in a negative way! Schwarenegger's Minimum Wage Idea for State Workers

Has Arnie cut his pay to minimum wage? Does his mimimum wage cut include all legislators? Does his budget cuts include slashing of all perks and benefits for legislators?

Is Arnie going to not take taxes out of the California state workers when he cuts their pay to minimum wage?

Has Arnie given thought that if he cuts Caifornia state worker's wages it will be a snowball effect? The workers will lose their houses, cars, and etc. and will further affect the Californian economy and then in turn the U.S. economy.

Are you aware how trends get started in California and then travel to the rest of the United States? I am concerned this will be a monkey-see monkey-do idea to other states throughout the United States and other states will start adopting Arnie's budget cutting ideas of the minimum wage for state workers.

I guess it didn't occur to you that these so called "free ride" illegals pay taxes for every purchase they make and through every paycheck they receive. They support our infrastructure by purchasing food, clothes, gas, etc., just like everyone else. And they live in conditions most of us would find appalling. Stop believing the lies you're being fed and do some research. You'll find I'm right.

Government Workers and Nazi Tactics

Yes, I said it, Nazi tactics. It's a fascist maneuver leaving people at the mercy of the head of their government. Where's the checks and balances in state government? (For that matter, where's the checks and balances in the federal government anymore???). Schwarzenegger is taking from those who have nothing or very little in the hopes of closing in on a budget deficit? How are these people supposed to get by under an inflated and heavily burdened cost of living? The government is supposed to be looking out for us not screwing us! We put them there. We can take them out. Time to start "the great unwashed masses" on the road to intelligent thought and progressive action. It's unbelievably clear our "elected" officials aren't going to do it for anyone but big industry, elitists, and the corporate network. We the people no longer exist.

As for the government workers, while I feel for you, a big part of me says now you're getting your just desserts. Now you'll truly know first hand what the rest of us have had to deal with when trying to siphon through all that unfair and all too often frustrating bureaucratic BS and you showed us no mercy, no empathy, and no human courtesy..."I understand ma'am but that is policy. Call this number. Next!" or "I understand, sir, but you need to get back in line for another two hours and fill out your paperwork correctly. Make sure you have the fee." Ok, there are a handful of polite and helpful government workers out there but the majority are a bunch of uneducated, self serving, power hungry, demeaning pricks...that applies to the women too. Now I suppose it will be even harder to get a human reaction out of any of you as you will feel justified to treat everyone even worse than you already do. I really, REALLY hope the DMV is included in this cut if the cut is to be law.

For everyone's general welfare, though I hope this idiot governor rethinks his tactic and pulls from the bigger salaries rather than the smaller ones. The rest of us may be next.

There are slackers in every industry that's for sure, but if you haven't worked for the state or county then you really don't have cause to bash them, cause you don't really know the facts do you?

Lock the legislature up in the Capitol, chain the chamber doors and post State Police at the exits. Obviously they (the legislature) do not take their work seriously. If they care so much about governing why are they off on vacation now instead of hammering out this budget and compromising. The Dems need to accept cuts and the Repubs. need to accept some tax increases. Get your work completed. You are breaking State law and should really be incarcerated. Perhaps CA needs a law that removes lawmakers from office when they don't complete their job by the date specified by law. All the State politicians want to do is personal fundraising and photo ops.for 11 months a year, to further their worthless careers. Hey I have an idea, why don't you lend the State some money Gov. Terminator. After all Governator, the bottom line is it is your fault for allowing the Legislature to break the law without punishment or repercussion.

Minium Makes No Sense

Why should the good people of California be subject to a massive pay cut because the legislators did not do their job. they knew when the budget was due. Also, why the National minimum if they are State Employees? The State Minimum is higher? Of course then those people will qualify for every supplimental program they can get their hands on, food stamps, medical, childcare grants, free school lunch programs, section 8 housing, even welfare suppliment, each of which I will certainly apply for if my wages are cut. None of this makes any sense. They need a formula approach to figuring a budget that can be applied consistantly. Cuts should be made to programs that don't cause "harm" to people, such as beautification projects. And who's dumb idea was it anyway to put Oleander on the highways, which are toxic if burnt? Clearly, there has been mismanagement over distribution of funding and lack of proper consultation.
