Accountability
This is a vitally important issue especially in 2008. This needs public debate and not just impute from Washington politicians. The recent statements from our commander and chief saying, "Bring on World War 3" in puerile fashion tells me that I do NOT want decision of whether or not the nation goes to war to reside in the executive branch alone.
At the same time, in 1939 the same executive power’s hands were tried and the entry of America into World War 2 was delayed by two full years.
The American people need discuss and debate this NOW while there is NOT an immediate crisis at hand.

War Making Powers
What the United States needs is an honest President, who can reliaze the consequence of a war, and complete a proper investigation. We need a President with an IQ of more than 94. If Congress was involved, they would vote depending on a polk spending package for their district. Congress voted for the Iraq War without investigation. Congress just voted for additional $100 billion for Iraq without any time table, and including in that package was $100 million to Mexico for drug smuggling and criminal acitivies to a corrupt government. This charitable contribution to Mexico was without vertification or accountability, and not given in small grants. When Congress can hold people accountability, then they should have some input. However, Congress cannot hold themselves accountability.
war making powers
It has never been and never will be the intention of the American people to allow just one person to decide to engage this country in a war. It was intended to give the president the power to defend this country against attackers for 30 days until comgress could act and declare war or sue for peace against an agressor.
The president has the right to defend this country against attack, He does not have the right to be an aggressor or make the decision to make war upon another nation without the approval of the representatives of the people. Even if he is from Texas!
