McClellan testimony

I have to applaud the stand up courage of this guy. We finally have some official insight into the out and out lies and criminal actions that the Bush administration has been perpetrating on the american people. In my opinion, Scott was a guy with integrity who was a true "Bush believer" until his con-man boss showed his true colors and played him for a patsy. I seem to remember that the same thing happened to another man with unquestionable integrity, General Colin Powell A disgruntled ex-employee? Not by a long shot. Trying to hawk his book? Maybe. But probably more like a guy who said "enough is enough and I'm not going to lie for you people anymore!""...And to "ofMo" and "Dave Thomas" from above, you guys must either be Republican-paid responders or brainwashed members of that pitiful 17% that still think Bush/Cheney have the country headed in the right direction. Have you two guys taken any notice however, that no one in the administration has tried to refute any of the testimony? And by the way Dave, the country had some serious problems during Jimmy Carter's tenure, but they pale in comparison to what this country faces now as a result of the Bush/Cheney years. There is a whole lot of truth and reality in that bumper sticker that you see on the road sometimes--"DRUNKEN FRAT BOY RUNS COUNTRY INTO DITCH"

RE: Scott McClellan, wannabe

DT of CA you make my case:

Your comments are a classic example of choosing to attack rather than discuss the issue. You go after Democrats - bringing in LBJ, Obama and Cater - not one of these men have anything to do with this issue.

Are you scared of this issue?

Do you think it is acceptable for the President to pardon a person convicted in a US court because he is his buddy?

It is not American.

I am a long time supporter of the Republican Party, but these men are not treating the Constitution with the respect they swore when they entered office.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

It is the Constitiution they are to protect - not their freinds.

What is there to hide?

If there is no illegal activity by the President and his staff, why does no one in the Republican party answer questions about the specific issues McClellan brings out? It seems the only reply from any Republican on this issue is to attack McClellan.

This whole Libby affair makes it impossible to support the administration. When the President granted the pardon, I really lost faith in our government. I mean really - a good friend of the Vice President is convicted fairly in court and he gets pardoned right away, not even an appeal process. What's the incentive to abide by the law?

It just isn't American.

impeachment

What is taking them so long???

Oh, right. Fear.

Tetchy about the truth Republicans

The previous two posts from Republican commenters/Bush loyalists/Limbaugh gaggle, seem a mite tetchy about the truth as seen by an eyewitness. McClellan is a brave man and earned his miniscule book advance when the first Republican opened his nasty yap. It would appear from the latest poll that the ranks of the deluded have shrunk to about one fifth of the population. It still makes me nervous to go to the grocery store knowing one in five people might be so out of touch with reality that they still believe the patently untrue. Indictments and Impeachments are necessary for the public welfare and the future of the country.

crock of crap

Quote

"McClellan said he was reluctant but won assurances from Libby that he was not involved. Libby since has been unmasked as one of four administration officials who discussed Plame's identity with reporters. Another was former Bush political guru Karl Rove."

First of all her name really wasn't leaked, and not by Rove. This isn't a news article, it is an editorial by a 2nd rate reporter. Nothing more than more biased media coverage.

Scott McClellan, wannabe

Scott McClellan talks like he was a member of the President's inner circle when in reality he was an errand boy who obviously wanted to be more. His testimony made it sound like he was with President Bush reading the daily intelligence reports. What a joke! I love John Conyers, a living fossil from the Great Society of LBJ that bankrupted the country for over a decade. I like the way Conyers talks about impeachment to pander to the liberal left, but he refuses to walk the walk. Let's see Congress try to impeach President Bush for getting rid of Saddam Hussein, his insane sons, and his cadre of murderous henchman. Let's see them try to do it during the Presidential election race down to November. Anything to save us all from traveling back in time to the era of ruinous taxation, a weak foreign policy, and huge inefficient government of Jimmy Carter's era that the election of Barak Obama would reincarnate. Please tell me America isn't stupid enough to relive that travesty.
