Pakistan's Border Badlands Are a Challenge for the Next President

Eliminating Pakistan's havens for al Qaeda and the Taliban is a goal for either McCain or Obama

The U.S. military plans to open six more such border centers by winter. More will need to be done, of course, including stronger action by Pakistan to root out al Qaeda and to constrain Afghan insurgents. Says Milley, "At some point in order for there to be resolution to the insurgency in Afghanistan—and Pakistan for that matter—both sides have got to come to grips with the issue of the border." And so, too, will the next president of the United States.

Redeployment of AlQuada and Taliban to a higher purpose?

one thing that I learned in 11 years working in Saudi Arabia is that there has never been any other purpose in most of Islamic religion but to make it the only religion. Most of us who went there to work thought that has long has we didn't try to recruit muslims to our religious way of thinking that there would be no problems, little did we know how islam would constantly try to encroach on our way of life1 Everything from almost weekly invitations to come to meetings to study the Muslim thought and way of life (While we were denied any mention of our religion no holiday celebrating, no bibles or any religious symbols no services-nothing!) Even what to us were merely nonreligious holidays that we think of has manufactured holidays were forbidden. i.e. Valentines day, thanksgiving and St Patricks day were expressly foerbidden and not just in Saudi Arabia but in many Muslim dominated countries. Friday night prayers are dominated by anti other religion rethoric even before 9/11 we knew to stay off the streets after Friday noc prayers when angry Muslims boiled out onto the streets looking for any nonmuslims. If anyone thinks that this hasn't always been the goal of the Taliban,AlQuada and numerous other extremeist and non extremeist groups they are sadly mistaken. And if you are not convinced try living in any Muslim dominated country and see if you will be left alone in peace to live your own life in the maner which your own religion has dictated!
