Presidential Lies and Deceptions
When spin crosses the line, the credibility gap is hard to repair

Lies, misadventures and sex
President Clinton was the victim of our distaste for anything secual in nature, inherited from our puritan ancestors. I wonder how historians will view his impeachment in light of the misbehavior and lies told by earlier presidents.
accountability and lies
We all are in a country of habitual repetitivness. We all want change but what are we actually doing about this war/economy? I am a single mother barely getting by paycheck to paycheck. I can see the repetitivness throughout history. What President hasn't lied to us about their reasons for war? If we focus on the past we can most certainly predict the future. If more American's would take accountability in retaining history past, we would be able to make a well informed decision that would benefit us all. What the government is accomplishing now isn't doing the job.....maybe a different approach is what we need.
Spin, Spin, Spin
So now that Scott McClellan has said that President Bush was lying and purposefully manipulating evidence we are supposed to believe him. Why is it that whenever someone offers criticism, we slurp it up as gospel, but when praise is offered we are skeptical. Most of us seem to be willing to accept whatever statements support our own predesposed position regardless of the lack of information on the entire situation. History will be a better judge. One thing is certain, both McClellan and Bush cannot be right about everything. They can both be wrong, but they cannot both be right. Until the truth is uncovered we seem to be left with marching to the tune of the drum beat we prefer. Dance people, dance.
Just how stupid are we?
Stupid enough to let this administration remain in office.
Stupid enough to have let them lie us into an unnecessary war.
Stupid enough to not know who our Congressman is.
Stupid enough to think we have fulfilled the requirements of citizenship by voting.
Stupid enough to let Congress pass the Patriot Act.
Stupid enough to let Congress pass the Military Commissions Act.
Stupid enough to let them defeat the recent legislation designed to slow Global Warming.
Stupid enough to condemn criticism of the Bush/Cheney nightmare as "un-patriotic".
Stupid enough to be concerned about the failure to wear a flag pin.
Stupid enough not to care.
"But Bush is only the latest in a long line of presidents who have suffered from credibility problems."
Spin spin spin. This is downplaying the fact that Bush started an illegal war, is guilty of more than enough to merit impeachment (except getting frisky with a cigar), and nearly the whole country hates his guts. By "credibility problems" do you mean he's responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent people? I know US News and World Report leans heavily to the right, but this is ridiculous. The republicans are going to alienate their entire constituency by continuing to stand behind this mockery of a president... on second thought, don't listen to what I said, keep spreading nonsense like this.
We need a was with Iran.
We need tax cuts for the wealthy.
We need Hagee and Parley's endorsements.
we need more troops in Iraq.
We need less "pork barrel" projects to fix our roads, the air, and MRT.
We need a do nothing approach and the housing crisis will vanish.
We need no talks with Ahmedinejad while China buys up the oil.
We need four more years of George Bush.
We need Bush Lite.
Vote McCain!
Cheney impeachment?
No mention of impeachment of Bush or Cheney? That would demonstrate there is still hope for our country - that we won't put up with these lies anymore. Our next President then may have more credibilty abroad because out there they will know there is more to our country than just the President and that even he or she is accountable.
This is the state of impeachment today:
There is a resolution of Articles of Impeachment against Cheney in the House Judiciary Committee awaiting hearings. All Conyers, the Chairman, has to do is give the go ahead for hearings to begin. Hearings don't necessarily lead to impeachment but they could if Cheney really has committed at least one impeachable offense.
Check out this web page if you like the idea of going ahead with those hearings:
http://WexlerWantsHearings.com
U.S. Rep Wexler has been leading an effort from within the HJC to motivate Conyers to give the go ahead. He needs to be able to show that a lot of people also want hearings.
Our so-called president!
It's amazing to me that the American people are so gullible and easily led as to allow this empty figure-head, and moreover, his corrupt administration to remain where they are to be as damaging as they have to our Country!
As far as Georgie personally is concerned, how can a man be expected to retain a normally-functioning mind after more that thirty years of heavy alcohol-consumption, not to mention the rumored narcotic use. Every time this ****** raised a glass or bottle to his lips, there went thousands of brain cells!
The only correct place for him and his entire administration is inside a prison cell considering what he's done to us! Of course, a good part of the blame rests with us! WE allowed it to happen!
By The Way, there's a big difference betweeen "abusive" and "truth"! This is truth.
We'll have a good and effective man in Obama!
LIES OF A PRESIDENT
So...By your reasoning we need to accept a Presidential lying to the world as long as he doesn't initiate any "actions" against anyone? How crazy is that?
Even "if" we did go by that criteria, a fair and level minded person such as yourself would probably not be available for that new and judgmental cabinet post--Presidential Lie Evaluator. of America's System (PLEAS)
One Term Limit
The Democracy or Athens picked members of the Senate at random and they served for a short period of time.
The voters have the power to elect only non-incumbents and get rid of the corruption that permeates our government. Then the voters can insure a better government by doing the same thing every two years. A clean slate is usually a less corrupted slate.
