wtf?
How arrogant of you to think you could come up with "10 Things I Didn't Know About Al Franken," I knew all 10 of those!
Al Franken's Mom
Al Franken
It seems that my comments have been edited to omit examples of Al Franken' ishonesty.
Things you didn't know about Al Franken.
When Franken first began hi campaign, I was struckby his scholarly mien and his abiity to quote the McKay report on the subject of WMDs in Iraq. I was also embarrassed when I quoted Franken prior to reading the McKay report for myself to find that Al Franken is intentionally decietful in such matters.
If he had a true issue, I would guess that he could make his case without resorting to dishonesty.
Clown
If we're going to put a clown in office, shouldn't we try for one whose actually funny?
GO AL GO
I am from PA, wish I could vote for Al, it is the right moment for someone like Al.
I am somebody, I am important, darn it, I like myself....NOW GET THAT GOOF NORM COLEMAN OUT MINNESOTA, he is a very bad man!!!!!!!
Money from "Big Comedy"
Senator Norm Coleman gets his campaign funds from top energy executives, also known as "Big Oil." Al Franken admittedly gets a lot of campaign contributions from his funny friends in Hollywood who he has labled "Big Comedy." I can understand how average Americans can be hurt if Big Oil gets their way in the United States Congress. But just whose ox would be gored by Big Comedy?
"A Hollywood View"
Minnesotans should adopt a "Hollywood view," whatever that is, if they do not hold one already.
California's economy, while not perfect, is thriving to a degree no longer seen in the Midwest. "Hollywood values" might prop up your sagging home values. Try it, you might find out you like it.
Al is very bright and multi-talented
He also co-wrote the film "When A Man Loves A Woman," which starred Meg Ryan, and is about alcoholism. (not a comedy)
He would represent Minnesota well as a Senator. Much better than slimy Norm Coleman!
Undo influence on elections
Here is an example: In Minnesota, former comedian Al Franken is waging a campaign for the Senate against the incumbent Norm Coleman. Al Franken has raised $9 million, much of it from people in Hollywood. Norm Coleman has raised $13 million. With each side raising money all too often from outside the State, how can they truly represent the interests of the constituents of the state? Should Franken win, will he be beholden to Hollywood? Should Coleman win, who will he represent? Why would Hollywood types contribute to the campaign - they do not reside in Minnesota? Is it to help put people in office who have a Hollywood view and not a Minnesota view of this country.
