Al Franken's Minnesota Senate Campaign Is No Joke
His campaign against Republican Sen. Norm Coleman is expected to be an expensive and nasty fight

Did franken's pr department write this?
What a lame fawning puff piece this worthless paid advertisement was. Franken is a dim hypocrite with a mean streak, no wonder the moron.org crowd loves him. The totally unwarranted praise this love column heaps on him is actually funnier than any performance he has ever given. A mongoloid chimp (which Al strongly resembles) would be a better choice.
Citizenship
At least Franken has legitimate ties to the state from which hs's running, which is more than can be said of the junior senator from NY.
Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer--Another Option
Jack is seeking the endorsement of the DFL party for US Senator at the Minnesota State convention in a couple weeks. He has worked a lifetime developing his background to serve his country in the senate. He is a principled person concerned about worldwide poverty, deceptive war invasions, the environment, healthcare and the economy. He is a very issue-focused individual who has the passion to help our country believe in ourselves again. He is promoting an honest approach to our problems. He also believes in a grassroots movement to involve people from the bottom up, not just the top down. It is our responsibility to help him get elected so that he can work with other progressive activists to bring about social justice, racial justice, and economic justice.
You apparently don't know Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer
JNP would be the superior senator. He wrote 12 books on foreign policy, was advisor to Paul Wellstone and advised Wellstone to vote against the tragic Iraq war. Jack knows that addressing climate change will lead to more security than fighting endless wars for oil. Jack is a gifted speaker, has a strong base in the MN Democratic party and is poised to surprise everyone at the state endorsing convention in a couple of weeks. It's a free country, and you can certainly write about our senate race as much as you want, but it might be more credible to do a bit of research first.
Accountability & Integrity
Party affiliation aside, if you lack those qualities, you are unworthy of the privilege to serve this country. Voting for or continuing to support government bureaucrats incapable of living by those virtues only perpetuates this country's downward spiral.
A simple premise that people of this country are afraid to follow.
Is there a 3rd candidate to vote for?
Pot Calling Kettle Black
Coleman jumps ship to throw in with the Republicans and aides Bush, Cheney, and the rest into running the country into the ground. He calls Franken "divisive and prone to ridicule" yet he forgets that's the favorite (and evidently effective) tactic of the Republicans with anyone that disagrees with them. He is the prototypical Republican hypocrite.
One other thing I don't get is why people get so hung up on someone's tax issue. If they intentional tried evade taxes (like many Republicans), that does have some merit on integrity. However, if you've ever had an accountant do your taxes - someone you trust - and they don't do their job is that really your integrity issue? Do you hire another accountant to audit that other one? Where does it end? There have been many cases where people that earn their living on the road have been burned by corrupt accountants or arcane state tax laws. It does not reflect on their integrity. Of course, Coleman will lie (another effective Republican tactic) that Franken didn't pay his taxes. I hope Franken will not allow Coleman to get by with these smear tactics.
When you vote Republican, you vote against your own best interests. And Republican Sen. Norm Coleman is living proof.
we all deserve a chance
problems we all have them ,show some honesty, resolve them, when you make the same mistake over ? over like bush thats when you lose people. Go Al You Rock
