The First Draft of History Looks a Bit Rough on Bush

History's First Draft

W. makes Jimmy Carter look like Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln rolled into one. On the basis of Katrina alone he would be the worst.

The First Draft of History Looks a Bit Rough on Bush

Regan!?

Why do some folks, when confronted with(political)reality, evoke the regan legacy?

Hell...he was merely a disloyal(to the People-ask the ATCA)boob with a penchant for playing a role.Couple that with a spin machine that excelled in deceiving far too many other boobs and what did we get?Well...we got a wrecked country. Can't only blame regan, perhaps he was self-delusional as well as his followers. Bush is of the same ilk ...a boob with a shrewd albeit immoral clan surrounding him and pulling the strings.Sometimes we get what we ask for and other times it is unjustly thrust upon us.

Bush the worst?

Despite the right wing comments criticizing anyone who might dare to honestly evaluate a republican president, I would like to make the observation that the two worst presidents are very possibly George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter. They are on opposite sides of the spectrum. One liberal, one conservative. One an intellectual and one, uh not an intellectual. Still, neither could permit their own extreme ideology to take a back seat to the best interest of our country. Our country was then in financial destruction and it is back there now. There was outrage by the republicans during the Carter administration about $1 per gallon gas. We are now approaching $4. Carter created our worst enemy in Iran. Bush has created enemies everywhere. Both will very possibly go down in history as 1 and 1A on the list worst leaders this country has had.

Bush is a disaster

If Bushfans think that liberals have a corner on "hate" or whatever tripe some of these posters are blathering on about, then your ravings aren't worth reading. Bush has been garbage as a president - it's so obvious that no analysis is even necessary at this point - and if you're ignorant and partisan enough that you can't see that, you shouldn't be embarrasing yourself with posts discrediting yourselves.

Get The Hell Out of Iraq

http://www.alternet.org/story/82556/

Facts are facts, sorry

The 3 biggest hits to the economy

1. Bush's tax cuts for the rich have reduced annual tax revenue available for public needs by $300 billion each year.

2. BushCheney's occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq has cost $700 billion, according to the Congressional Research Service. That's about $400 million a day. Nobel Prizewinning economist Joseph Stiglitz says the tab is well over $2 trillion when you add rehabilitation for injured vets, replacement of military hardware, and the value of things we could have produced (but didn't) with that money over the past seven years.

3. Bushites have finished off the deregulation of banking that began in earnest during Bill Clinton's presidency. This ideological madness has caused the collapse of investment funds, banks, and the stock value of corporations that depend on them (which is to say most of Wall Street and much of the financial world), as well as a steep decline in the value of most homes in America and a sharp rise in the cost of living in them.

Don't know how history will view him...

But it's pretty clear that he's seriously failed in the here and now. People who don't think so just can't bring themselves to admit that the "liberals" were actually right. Of course, these are the same people who believe intelligent design to be on equal footing with evolution, believe that pro-wrestling is probably real most of the time.

liberal hate

Liberals really should try to suppress their hate and rage. Calm down.

Look at the anger in the above blog.

Comments that attack a person rather than attacking a persons reasoning is meaningless.

I see in these posts liberals hate Limbaugh, hate Fox, hate, hate Drudge and hate anyone that disagree with their point of view.

Hate is the opiate of the political machine you attach your selves to.

Strive for individual understanding.

Oil

I think in the next 50 years, when the world begins to think about taking the oil they need rather than paying for it, the U.S. presence in the Middle East will be under a more auspicious light. Why I am the only one to think of this is beyond me. Russia and France were milking the Iraqi nation under a punitive war reparations “Oil for Food” program imposed by the United Nations. Before that, Saddam had tried to follow in the footsteps of the Third Reich by invading a sister country Kuwait and could have easily taken Saudi Arabia if they had done a little more preparation. With a country like Russia bordering the world’s oil reserves, and with Red China nearly 100% dependent on foreign oil, it seems to me that an honorable democracy should have it’s military boot in place there. Or in the next few months, if Iran and Israel start to go at each other’s throats, big brother may be able to help keep the oil flowing for the benefit of the entire world. Anybody that thinks the U.S. is evil can kiss my butt. In an abstract way, I see George Bush as Winston Churchill in the era of English Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. Someday I think historians will too.
